This printer is definitely being considered for a small business venture. I would trust my clients would be just as happy as I am with their custom print jobs! I had zero issues connecting to a wireless connection. Initially, I thought the printer was going to be too big and cumbersome, but it sits perfectly on the desktop area. This printer is very user-friendly. Overall, I am ecstatic about all aspects of this printer! Thank you, HP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from High Performance Printer After having using the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdn for over a week and having everyone in the office try to print at least a few different types of documents, we are pleased to say that this is definitely a product that lives up to its advertisements. This model is completely new to us and set up was surprisingly easy once we plugged into our network. It prints and scans really fast and the quality of the prints themselves were perfect for our needs. Although we have not needed extra ink as of yet, there is also the offer for free ink from HP. Overall we are really happy to have received this printer and it works really well for our small business.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ijaravata from Good for Laserjet and Color Printing I was in the market for a laserjet printer since I print so often working from home but also use color printing when necessary and for personal creative projects. What I like about the printer is how quiet and fast the printing is, how it has 2-sided printing, and the size of the laserjet is perfect for a small office and provides quality printed professional documents. It’s almost perfect, however the downside is it is not wireless and requires an ethernet/usb connection and the menu navigation is not user-friendly. I had a bit of trouble connecting it to the ethernet, but had to reset my router for it to be recognized. I really don’t like using the dial for the menu navigation as it is difficult and time consuming to use, especially if you have to type something such as connecting it to the network, or logging in as an admin or user. I also wish it didn’t log out every time. I know it is a safety feature but logging back in is such a hassle with the dial. When you type sometimes it doesn’t register that you clicked the character or it slides to the next character and selects it, then you have to navigate all the way back to the backspace and then back to the letter, hoping it doesn’t happen again. If the printer had wireless connection and a touchscreen menu, it would get five stars. But it serves its purpose well otherwise.

When I finally got it set up the print quality was impressive. This will save us so much on going out to get color copies. It is a bit heavy. I would recommend this printer to anyone want ihgh quality looking copies.

It unboxed easily and setup was a breeze, I really like having the blue front panel as it makes it look even better, it's nice having a printer that is not all one color. After checking it over, I noticed how easy it is to change toner cartridges, pull the tray, and lift out the used toner. Connecting it to my home network was simple and quick. The only thing that took a few moments to get used to was the settings knob, but once you get it, operation is smooth. Printing is quick and looks great. Having a printer with auto-duplex is so convenient and conserves paper to boot. If all you need is a color printer and not a multifunction device, you should consider this printer.

Text is sharp, colors are accurate, and there's consistency across different document types, including text, graphics, and photos. This printer boasts fast printing speeds, with both black and colored pages printing at up to 35 pages per minute (ppm). This meets my expectations, especially when compared to entry-level laser printers starting at around 20 ppm. While the printer lacks built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, it can connect via Ethernet or USB. Setting it up via USB was straightforward and hassle-free, although Wi-Fi connectivity would have been a convenient addition for my home office setup. The printer's trays (Tray 1 and Tray 2) accommodate various paper sizes, including legal, and support duplex printing. Tray 2's 250-sheet capacity (20lb paper) is adequate for most office needs, and the optional Tray 3 can add an additional 550-sheet capacity. The control panel, operated via a dial, provides access to the printer's menu and settings. While functional, entering passwords can feel cumbersome without a conventional keypad. The screen quality is basic but functional, offering easy navigation. The build quality of the printer is solid, with easy access to toner, trays, and the rear door. However, the menu screen could benefit from better build quality, and physical buttons would have been a preferable addition to the dial control. Rated 5 out of 5 by Bammbamf from A proven race horse I’m the owner of a small sword fighting/ martial arts school. We do a fair amount of printing for promotions. A good color printer is essential to our success. For the last ten years we have used a HP Color Laser Jet CP1518ni. It has been an excellent partner in our endeavors. The best suitable upgrade appears to be the new HP Laser Jet Pro 4201dn. It’s full color capability and high speed printing (@ 35PPM) it is exactly what we need. Installation was as easy as plugging in the USB cord and performing the guided setup on the 2.7” screen by running through a few menus. The one challenge presented was that the scroll button/knob doesn’t seem secure and sturdy. The best feature of this printer for me is that the toner cartridges are reasonably priced and produce thousands of copies per cartridge. This printer is one of the best values out there today. I’m looking forward to many years of service.

Tray 2 will not close

Thank you for your question about the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn Printer. If you have the printer set to legal size, the tray will remain slightly extended and will still print. If not, you may want to check for any possible paper jams that may be causing the tray not close correctly. This is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIsiJFkxMjg from the HP Support team that shows how to fix paper jams for tray 2. The last option would be to contact HP Support https://support.hp.com/us-en about possible solutions for getting it fixed.
