Boost your security, productivity, and connectivity with this Thunderbolt™ 4 dock. It protects your network and devices from the moment you log in, supports multi-OS compatibility[1], and can support up to four 4K displays[2]. Ideal for ITDMs and hybrid workers, this dock also makes home or office device management easy.

The Dock that Protects your Connected Devices.

Feel safe and secure from the moment you log in. The HP Thunderbolt G4 Dock with HP Sure Start[3] prevents hackers from using the dock to attack the network and the attached notebook. Everything connected to this dock is protected and meets full NIST 800-193 requirements.

Expanded Compatibility. Easy Connectivity.

Focus on your work and not your compatibility[1] with a dock that works seamlessly with most notebooks and operating systems. Whether you use Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS—rigorous testing and certifications ensure that one USB-C® cable[4] connects your device and peripherals without issue.

The Power To Be Productive.

Multitask, create, and collaborate faster with a dock that supports up to four 4K displays through superfast Thunderbolt™ 4 technology[2] and has double the ethernet speed for faster downloads[5]. This dock also delivers up to 100W of power—enough to charge most notebooks.

Device Management Made Easy

Manage your mixed fleet more efficiently with wired Intel® vPro™ support that allows authorized administrators to remotely access and manage vPro™ enabled notebooks using wired connections to make updates. Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great device ….. but Great device but I have had to replace two of them with 1 to 2 years. Another one the ethernet socket quit working and I had to use a USB-C adapter to get internet connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marine57 from Compatible with Pavilion 16. Took sometime to find the right docking station for my HP Pavilion 16. It might be a little more expensive than some of the other docking stations out there but this has exacting what I needed. It matches the power supply of the laptop so it's always charged. Could use maybe one or two more ports and it would be nice if the audio mini plug port was in the rear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Semi from good brick It's a good dock. Only wish it had a better form factor. Does the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dweebs from Doesn’t provide the power…hp said it would. I was sold the wrong dock for my laptop. This doesn’t provide enough power for my laptop which it was paired with …from hp. Pretty expensive disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cactus-D from Great with Caveats for Linux This dock works exceptionally well with the Ubuntu OS that came pre-loaded with my HP Zbook Power 16 G11 A. The port density is exceptional, it’s got enough juice to charge the laptop, and the built in Ethernet port is nice if I want to use two Ethernet ports at once. The one caveat however, is that Ubuntu constantly throws a PCIe Data-Link error for the thunderbolt connection to the laptop. While it isn’t specifically affecting the laptop in a negative way, it fills up the DMESG log and there is no way to seemingly correct the issue. Since HP refuses to support an OS they preload, you either have to figure it out yourself or use the Ubuntu forums. While I am Linux savvy, this issue has so far eluded me. HP, if you are going to advertise an OS for your devices, you need to provide at least some level of minimal support with your own equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeJoy from Working comfort I have some physical issues that cause me problems when I am using the computer for a long time. The dock is most helpful in plugging in the extra components I need to be comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NJKJ from Small cube with plenty of ports This is the 120W smaller cousin to the 280W docking station. Despite the lower power output, it can handle all the basic needs of a small business work station setup. Excluding the type-C cable connection from the docking station to the PC, it has 11 various ports: 4-USB type-A super speed (2 with charging), 3-USB 3.0 type-C (1-standard type-C, 1-type-C Thunderbolt 4, 1-type-C+DisplayPort), 2-DisplayPort, 1-HDMI , 1 ethernet. This allows you to hook up at least 2 monitors [max up to 4 depending on the PC]. This cube-like docking station has a small footprint and can handle most of your basic connection needs.,

I own this docking station and am wondering, is this docking station backwards compatible with USB-A if I use an adapter to go from USB-C to USB-A (or to USB 3.0)? Is there an adapter I can purchase through HP that achieves this?

Asked by: Matt B.
This HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 will have limitations if using a USB-A adapter and is not recommended. Data transfer speeds will be greatly limited, and no more than one external display will be compatible if that even is.
