Rated 4 out of 5 by Jerrrrrry from Scanner light flashes Hooked up easy. Prints and scans well. Scanner light flickers right from the get go. Not worth the hassle to try and have it repaired or exchanged for the price. Will go to another brand next time I need one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Oscar's dad from Print Set Up Woes I like my printer very much, it prints clear and fast and it also does both sides of a page without my doing a thing. I had lots of trouble trying to get my computer to communicate with my printer. After three days and the use of both the IT folks from HP as well as from my computer I am now able to print. It was not clear to anyone that I dealt with that I was not to use my ENVY 6155e as the printer to use but rather another category (something like "all inclusive"). It works fine now so nothing got thrown out my window and in time I'll forget the trouble I had..

Rated 5 out of 5 by RockyA from Little powerhouse printer I love this printer! It was so easy to set up and use and there was no learning curve. Once it was out of the box I put it in the location I use for my work and plugged it in. It was connected to my wi-fi in no time and ready to use. All I had to do was insert the included ink cartridges, put in paper and enjoy. I also use instant ink service so my first shipment of ink came within about 3 weeks, just as the cartridges were running out. (The ones that come with the printer are small and don't have a lot of ink in them so you will want to replace them soon after buying). I love the new keypad on it that tells you exactly what to do and gives you the options for the pages you are printing. This is a great, economical printer and perfect for my needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Barbieanne:-) from “Good Printer, But HP Support Is a Nightmare” The printer has been working well so far. While I haven’t explored all of its features, it has been reliable when needed. However, HP’s support has been the worst I have ever experienced. The initial setup process went smoothly until the final step, where the printer needed to be linked to my HP account. After an excessive number of hours spent on virtual chats, reviewing support pages, and speaking with HP support representatives, I eventually learned that this last step is what makes the printer’s serial number recognizable under my HP profile. Without the serial number appearing in my account, I was unable to create a support ticket—leaving HP support unable to assist me because they couldn’t see the serial number on their end. I followed every troubleshooting step provided, including resetting the printer to default settings and even resetting my own network. Yet, I kept encountering the same error message at the end of the setup process: “Exit setup and try again later to resolve this issue. If you continue to have issues setting up, contact HP Support. (Error Code: EBSOOP0013)” After multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach a live support agent through standard channels, I eventually contacted HP’s sales support. It took two separate attempts before I was finally provided with a different support number. At this point, I had been dealing with this issue for almost two weeks, and my patience was running thin—especially since I was trying to activate the free toner trial, which I was unsure would still be available given the delay. My final attempt at resolving the issue was even more frustrating. I spent nearly four hours on the phone with four different representatives, going through the same troubleshooting steps I had already performed countless times. While I understand the need to verify the issue, as someone in the technology field, I also recognize when a process is leading nowhere. By the end of this exhausting call, the issue remained unresolved, and my case was escalated. However, every follow-up call came while I was working, and when I attempted to return the call using the number provided, it didn’t work. Each new interaction felt like starting over from scratch, and ultimately, I was disconnected with no follow-up. After four days of not having the time or energy to repeat this process, my support ticket was closed. At this point, I am unsure whether I will keep the printer, as I still cannot connect its serial number to my account. I have yet to receive a clear answer on what other functions this might impact beyond the toner subscription. The rating I provided reflects my experience more with the short than with the printer itself, which has performed well so far. However, when it comes to future purchases, I will think twice—if not completely avoid—buying from HP again. This experience has been extremely disappointing, particularly because I also make purchasing decisions for my employer. If this level of support is what can be expected, I certainly will not be taking the risk of ordering a large number of HP devices.

How does the Envy6155e compare to my old Office Jet Pro 8035e?

Asked by: PWS 30
Hello. Thanks for your question. The HP Envy 6155e printer can print, copy, and scan up to 8.5 x 11 inches. It supports double-sided printing but does not have an automatic document feeder (ADF). It does include a flatbed copier and scanner. For comparison, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer was a robust office printer with a larger paper capacity and an ADF for more efficient copying and scanning of up to 35 pages. This model has now been replaced by the HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer, which continues to offer these strong office functionalities.
