Great with Caveats for Linux
This dock works exceptionally well with the Ubuntu OS that came pre-loaded with my HP Zbook Power 16 G11 A. The port density is exceptional, it’s got enough juice to charge the laptop, and the built in Ethernet port is nice if I want to use two Ethernet ports at once. The one caveat however, is that Ubuntu constantly throws a PCIe Data-Link error for the thunderbolt connection to the laptop. While it isn’t specifically affecting the laptop in a negative way, it fills up the DMESG log and there is no way to seemingly correct the issue.
Since HP refuses to support an OS they preload, you either have to figure it out yourself or use the Ubuntu forums. While I am Linux savvy, this issue has so far eluded me. HP, if you are going to advertise an OS for your devices, you need to provide at least some level of minimal support with your own equipment.

Great organizing tool
Laptops are port challenged. Your best fix is this HP dock. Ports for video, usb C and usb 2 or 3, cat 6 and more, and it makes no noise. Bravo!

Small cube with plenty of ports
This is the 120W smaller cousin to the 280W docking station. Despite the lower power output, it can handle all the basic needs of a small business work station setup. Excluding the type-C cable connection from the docking station to the PC, it has 11 various ports: 4-USB type-A super speed (2 with charging), 3-USB 3.0 type-C (1-standard type-C, 1-type-C Thunderbolt 4, 1-type-C+DisplayPort), 2-DisplayPort, 1-HDMI , 1 ethernet. This allows you to hook up at least 2 monitors [max up to 4 depending on the PC]. This cube-like docking station has a small footprint and can handle most of your basic connection needs.,

Great dock for dual 4K monitors
Great dock for 2 4K monitors. I am using an HP Elitebook along with a 4K BenQ and an LG 4K. Both are running at the 4K resolution as is the Elitebook. No problems. I’m not seeing any flickering at all. Consistent connection all around.

The HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W will not be compatible with the Omen 2Y4A6AC. It does not have enough wattage. The HP Thunderbolt Dock 280W will be recommended for that laptop. This Dock features 2 internal NIC cards to support 1Gb and 2.5Gb Ethernet. Thank you for your question!

For USB-C™ functionality, the host PC must support the DisplayPort™ Alt mode protocol through its USB-C™ port. Thunderbolt™-enabled notebooks will function at USB-C™ speeds. Charging and port replication is supported on notebooks that have implemented USB-C™ industry specifications. Power button to turn on or wake the system, Wake-on LAN from warm and cold dock, Wake-on LAN from S4/S5, and MAC Address Pass-Through S0, S3, S4, S5 warm and cold dock features only function on HP or HPsupported notebooks. HP does not provide Ethernet and audio drivers on Mac PCs.

Is the Thunderdock G4 compatible with any Blue tooth head sets or earbuds?
Thank you for your question! The HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 does not have built-in Bluetooth so the headset or earbuds will not connect directly to the Dock. However, most if not all laptops that are compatible with this Dock will have built-in Bluetooth. Just connect your Bluetooth Headset or Earbuds via Bluetooth on the Host PC.

Iuse this device to connect my le[top to the internet instead of wifi, is there a way to connect to the internet without charging the battery? it charge my leptop all day which isnt good for the battery health.
Thank you for your question! The HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 will provide an RJ-45 ethernet port along with power for the laptop. modern laptops stop charging when they reach full capacity. Most laptops have built-in protective measures to prevent overcharging and damage to the battery. Once the battery is full, the charger will automatically power off and the laptop will continue to use power from the AC adapter. The charger will resume charging when the battery loses some of its charge. However, if you don't wish your laptop to be connected power-wise all the time and only need the Ethernet interface, an external USB Ethernet dongle would be a good option.

You can use an universal USB A docking station with the HP laptop 15-dy5885wm. Be sure there are the same video ports that are on the monitors, i.e. HDMI.

Does this docking station always charge the laptop and eventually 'kill' the batter for always being plugged in?
Thank you for your question! HP Notebooks won't keep charging the battery once it has reached 100%. Generally speaking, if the notebook battery is at or above 95% charged when plugged in, the notebook won't charge the battery further. Charging will only occur after the battery has dropped below 95%, and only then will it charge up to 100% and then stop. This is true with or without a docking station. Make sure your laptop has proper ventilation to prevent overheating. Also, if you are using the Notebook primarily in the Docking Station so it is always connected to AC Power, at least once a month, take the notebook out of the docking station and allow it to use the battery down to where you get the warning that you need to plug it in, then put it back in the docking station and allow the battery to recharge to 100%.
