After using a few other printers I have find my day to day printer that is cost effective to use without breaking the bank. This printer has saved me from out sourcing my small batch print jobs because of its true vibrant colors needed. I believe because of the cost benefit and the beautiful color it produce I will be printing more than normal from home.

Smooth little printer
Ideal for basic things like document printing but it surprised me with the efficency of printing photos (since I love sharing memories with friends) and the low cost of ink replacement as well. Definitely better than my inkjet printer I use now with less headaches

Nice Printer!
My daughter got this printer (HP Smart Tank 651) since our old one was getting pretty tough to get cartridges for. It was really easy to set up and connect once the updates were in., We've had the printer for about a week and it's been great to use. The only negative I can think of that it doesn't have duplexing whereas our old one could print on both sides automatically. But I do love having the smart tank.

I love this smart tank printer! So much better than having to keep replacing ink cartridges for sure. The ink should last way longer than traditional cartridges. Great print quality. Fairly easy to set up, as long as you follow all the instructions, you can't go wrong. Being that it is an HP product, you know you are getting a very good quality printer that is worth the price you paid.

We recently upgraded to the HP Smart Tank 651 and couldn't be happier with our new printer! From the moment we unboxed it, the setup process was incredibly straightforward. The step-by-step instructions made getting it up and running a breeze—even for someone who's not particularly tech-savvy.

I still have ink!
This printer was incredibly easy to set up, but it kept encountering an error at first due to my desktop needing many updates. Hooking it up prompted the system to run updates. You cannot put too much paper in the loading tray as it will pull the full amount out and not print anything. The ink has not got clogged or ran out! I have printed so much with this and the quality is great! It's also fairly fast when printing and the clarity is excellent. I can easily print from my phone and other devices as well. It hasn't refilled the cartridges yet so it's still on the first fill. I'm excited to see how long this lasts and I know it's already cheaper than paying for cartridges every month. Other features include scanning and multi-page scanner which is an incredible asset for anyone who wants to digitize paperwork! There is manual duplex printing but that means you will have to print odd pages, then refeed those papers through to print the even pages which isn't a deal breaker for me.

Seamless and Easy Printer
I’ve been using the Smart Tank 651 for two weeks now, and overall, it’s been a solid printer. The best thing about it is the refillable ink tank system, which was easy to fill and I've printed roughly 20 pages now—seriously, the ink levels barely budge. The print quality is sharp, especially for documents and it handles color pretty well without looking washed out. Setup was fairly simple, though connecting it to Wi-Fi took a little patience. The automatic duplex printing is a nice bonus, saving paper without extra hassle. My only gripe is that it’s not the fastest printer out there, but if you need reliable, high-volume printing without breaking the bank on ink, this is a great choice.

High Quality Printing with Longer-Lasting Ink
I recently acquired this printer to use in the administration of a local sports tournament. One of the standout features of this printer is its longer-lasting ink, and I was thrilled to discover that the ink replacement costs are considerably lower than those of toner and the inkjet cartridges of the past. This makes it an incredibly cost-effective option for anyone who needs high-quality color prints frequently. This printer is an excellent choice for the home, for schoolwork, or for small home offices.
While, admittedly, I am accustomed to the speed of laser printers, I did notice that this particular smart tank all-in-one model seemed slow, even when compared to other inkjet models, it lacks speed when printing. However, this drawback is easily overshadowed by the exceptional print quality. Getting high quality printing in color at a reasonable cost, is very valuable depending on your needs. I can attest that the printer produced some stellar-looking certificates that were crisp, vibrant, and professional.
The other functions of the all-in-one printer were standard and performed as expected. Scanning was easy, and faxes transmitted normally. The benefits of its remote features are outstanding. I can print to the printer while out of the office, and I have someone load the document feeder so I can use the scanner while out in the field. Wireless connectivity and driver installation worked flawlessly, and it was actually one of the easiest printers to connect to and install.
In summary, the HP Smart Tank Plus 651 is a fantastic choice for those who prioritize print quality and cost efficiency. Despite its slower speed, the benefits of longer-lasting ink and lower replacement costs make it a worthwhile investment. I highly recommend this printer to anyone looking for high-quality prints without great expense.

Great Printer!
I'm so glad I decided to try this printer. Set up was super easy. I love the ink tank feature so you can see when it needs refilling. I also like that the colors can be filled individually and that you are provided with an abundance of ink. I have only used the printer twice so far but the quality of the picture that I printed was really good. I also love the ease at which I can send documents direct from my phone to the printer, this will save me trips to the local office supply store for printing special documents. I have already recommended this printer to my sister.

Great Classroom Companion
I was able to easily set up this printer using WIFI when I brought it home. I wanted to complete the initial set up and try it out at home before bringing it to my classroom. It was a smooth process with easy to follow instructions with great visuals. After the test print and printer heads were aligned properly, I went on to print numerous colored copies. The print quality and speed were great. After I was satisfied this HP Smart Tank 651 printer would work well in my classroom I brought it in. I would like to note that my school does not allow us to connect printers to the wifi, or install drivers to our work computers on our own, but this was still not an issue for this HP printer. I was able to use a usb cable to connect the printer to my work HP laptop and connect it using the HP Smart Program on my computer. This printer is by far my favorite printer I have used. I am able to make class sets of color copy worksheets within minutes. The scanner/copier feature comes in handy when I am short on textbooks and need a quick copy of the passages. This printer also prints double sided copies. The HP 31 and HP 32xl ink refill bottles are available to purchase in stock my local retailers, so I do not have to wait on a shipment of ink. Best of all, I can rest assured that I will not have to pay a fortune to refill the ink. This is a very cost effective printer for me as a teacher. Now I will be able to provide my students with vibrant handouts that spark their interests without having to sacrifice money for ink cartridges.

Perfect for home-school
We home-school our children and are constantly printing. This printer is just perfect. Its very quick for both color and BW. It makes copies and the ink seems to last for a very very long time, making it very cost effective and a perfect printer for a lot of use in BW and color. We have not had any problems at all with it and have used it quite a bit! So we highly recommend it!

I must say I love this printer better than my last printer the ease of setting up was very good actually excellent to set up that printer and it was up and running in no time It's not hard to set it up It's all step by step it's awesome I love it I definitely will recommend it to family and friends . It's awesome, I'm in love with it. It has so much features you can copy, scan,an fax and you also could do it from your phone can't get no better than that.
It comes with high-yield ink bottles that HP claims can last up to two years. I can't wait to see if it's true. This significantly reduces the ongoing cost of printing, a major advantage over traditional cartridge-based printers. Crafting Game Changer
This HP Smart Tank 651 is exactly what I was looking for. The setup was relatively easy. The ink install was super easy. I already used the HP Smart app on my mobile device, so connecting to the printer through the app was a breeze. My previous printer was a regular inkjet printer, with single-use cartridges, and I would go through so much ink trying to print off pictures for different crafting projects. The amount of ink used to print off just one full sheet picture would have killed half of my cartridge. I don't even notice any ink lost from the Smart Tanks. I'm also impressed with the quality of the "cups" picture that I printed using regular paper. The colors are vibrant. The skyline picture was done on a special glossy paper that I use called waterslide paper, and the ink didn't smear during printing or after printing. I'm impressed with the quality. I'm super excited about this printer upgrade. I can't wait to see all the other things it will do. Plus, it is gonna save me a ton of money on ink. I will recommend this to all of my crafty friends.

Smart Tank on a budget
I was pleased when the HP Smart Tank 651 arrived as my previous multifunction printer was nearing it's effective life, loved it for its features and low cost printing for the past 11+ years.
The 651 was easy to unpack and get it up for running with detailed instructions for getting it started. The challenges began with the smart app. It wouldn't pick the wifi signal at my home office. Had to move to a room near to the router but again it would not pick the SSID and had to manually log to the network everytime the printer is restarted. Prints great with good colors though the color prints are awfully slower vis a vis black. Have been unable to install the scan driver inspite of multiple attempts. I guess will have to call the support desk to figure out the solution. Hope am able to fix it soon.
Overall, a good budget option if looking for a smart tank but has rough edges to overcome.

Not quite what I am use to
So, I would like to start by pointing out that all I have owned for the better part of 15 years now has been HP printers. The Smart Tank 651 replaced my older OfficeJet Pro 8910 which is stsill on its last leg, so this review is basically putting the two side to side. When it comes to features, both printers are All-In-Ones capable of copy, scan, print, and fax. I wish that the Smart Tank printer had a color display like that 8910, but that is very small complaint. The size of the 561 is about a third of the size of the 8910, that isn't really a relevant thing to me either thougjh. Now the things that I do wish the Smart Tank had that my 8910 has is a bottom loading feed tray, I personally hate back loaded printers. I am on a break from school right now so I haven't done a lot of printing on it yet, but I do feel like it could be a little quicker compared to the age of my 8910 and the fact that it can print faster then the 561. I am curious to see how long this ink lasts in the tanks comapred to my ink cartridges in my OfficeJet Pro. I am also wondering about the cost of refil bottles, which I haven't looked into yet. My only other question I have is, are these printers eligible for InstantInk like my old one is? Does anyone know?
Overall, I am excited about the new Smart Tank 561, I have been waiting for HP to jump on the bandwagon for a while and I am glad that they finally did! It will obviously need a little more use, which it will get in the next month after my classes start back up and I will update a new testimonial then. As of right now, the 561 is a good choice for a printer for someone who doesn't have high printing demands or for just a personal printer.

Precise and fast!
This HP printer has been doing work in our household and keeping us on task! I love this quickly I was able to set it up and get it connected to our household. We all have the ability to print wirelessly from our phones and our tablets and it’s been wonderful. The printing is crisp and it’s easy to monitor the ink levels. We’re obviously not even close to using up all the ink, but I really dig how easy HP makes it to replace and get moving again!

Economically friendly printer
I've been looking for a printer that doesn't require cartridges because replacing the ink on our older printer has become so expensive. I was really looking forward to testing out this printer and we couldn't be happier with it.
The printer itself is the perfect size for a home office. It doesn't take up too much space and it looks very sleek in style. Setting up the printer was very easy, the easiest experience I've had to date. It only took me 20 minutes to read the instructions and set everything up. 10/10 experience for set up.
The noise of the printer is very low, which is needed. I also discovered that there is a silent mode as well, which is pretty cool. The noise is not disruptive at all.
I also liked that I can see the ink levels while printing. It's not a guess at how much ink I have left, which is really useful for me. There are times where I have alot of printing to do for work and I can plan accordingly.
The only thing I wish this printer had was a cassette deck to store the paper. Currently you have the load the paper on the side and place it on an angle. This causes problems sometimes because it doesn't align itself and it causes issues. It can only hold a limited quality at a time. This causes a little bit of extra work because there is limited storage for the paper feeder.
All in all this printer is really great and we've recommended it to a few friends that have their own businesses.

Love New Printer
I got my new printer and got it set up with no problems. Had a little problem with ink but didn't read the instruction just looked at pictures the finely figured out that I didn't have flip top bottles and got ink in. Did the alignment page and was ready to print. Had no problem printing. This is an easy printer to get set up and then get it tied to your computer for printing. I still need to set it up to print from my phone and tablet but that should be easy to do. Just have to reread instructions. It's a great printer so far.

Great Printer
My wife decided on this printer because our old printer was just not cutting it. She purchased the HP Smart Tank 651 printer and we are very pleased. It setup in minutes with no issues. Anyone, no matter your skill level, can setup/install this printer. This product prints, scans and does everything very well. Our last printer could not scan legal documents, but the HP Smart Tank 651 can do it. The print colors are vibrant and the scans are crisp. If you are looking for a great all-in-one, that is easy to setup and use, this is it.

Pretty nice printer
Overall, I do like this printer. It prints quickly and with precision. I have some pros and cons I will list to make it easier:
Pros:
- Fast printing
- Refillable ink cartridges
- Somewhat easy to set up
- Connected effortlessly to Wifi
Cons:
- The instructions could be a bit more clear. It would be helpful to know more details like that the ink bottles need to click into the spot before filling and that you are supposed to use all of each bottle.
- Speaking of using all of each bottle, filling them got a bit messy because there is just a little too much ink in the refill and if you put all of it, it overfills. But it also seems like too much to waste so I suppose I’ll save them and top them off with use.
- When the cartridges are moving throughout the printer, whether during printing or while updating the firmware, they’re very creaky and loud like the machine needs some WD40
- There is also a light beeping sound when the printer is idle. That gets a little annoying.
- You can only put about 50 pieces of paper in the printer at a time, so you have to refill it often for regular use. Most printers take at least half a ream.
- No double sided printing capability.
Overall, I think this is a great printer, more to see with regular use. I would recommend it.

All-in-one, except for double sided printing
I was excited about the opportunity to share my thoughts about the HP 651 printer, Smart Tank 651 All-In-One printer. Unboxing this printer was a breeze.Everything was packed and protected with care.I love that the printer was in a bag with handles that made it easy to slip the printer out of the box.The set up manual was user friendly and easy to follow along with the instructions. A quick note is to pay attention prior to installing the printer heads.Once you have removed the cardboard you will install each printer head gently until it fully clicks and sets into place.After that the rest of the set up was simple.This is the first printer that we have owned with the ink/tank system.It was becoming difficult to find the ink for our old printer which is why we wanted an upgrade.The HP Smart Tank 651 ink bottles fit nicely into the ink tanks and they did not make a mess. It states that the printer includes approximately two years worth of print,scan copies.Time will tell ,but what I will say is that the ink is priced more reasonably than our old model printer ink.I immediately used the HP app to print out a full color image of my 50th Birthday gift.The full color photo didn't take long to print and the quality was very impressive even on regular paper. I then printed out one of my favorite recipes.The HP app is straight forward and easy to use as well.I appreciated being able to send a link to the other users in our home so they could get set up to print.They were impressed with how easy it was to install.The touchscreen has nice tactile and moves efficiently through the screen options.This printer overall is rather easy to unbox,set up and print. The one glaring drawback for us was that this does not have a built-in option for duplexing/double sided printing. We used double-sided printing for most of our documents on our old printer.It was a convenient feature and created less paper waste.I believe there is a way to do it manually for this printer,but it requires much more effort/steps which is a serious bummer.Too bad that was a feature not included on this model. If double-sided printing is very important to you, then you may want to look at a different HP model for that. Overall, a printer that is fast and easy to use with great printing quality.

Great for photos
This has been useful for creating shiney photos on specialty paper. I will not recommend this for anyone who need a printer that has duplex capabilities. I had to print out some documents for signing and manually flipping the paper is a small annoyance. but overall the printer is great and the ability to refill the ink manually is great.

fast printer, AirPrint easy
I needed a new color printer because my laser color printer went out of commission. HP has good reviews and this was a jet printer which i missed having as the laser could not do the photos i needed in the same clarity. The set up of this printer was very easy. Getting it hooked up to wiFI also easy to do. The set up with my computer went smoothly. I was then able to print directly from my iphone and ipad using airprint .
The quality of the prints was very good when i left the settings alone. The speed slowed down considerably as I changed the setting and tried to use 1200 , so I wont be printing at that resolution again. The printer does take some getting use to , in that when i send a print it makes alot of noise to the point that i think there is a paper misfeed. It eventually stops and the sheet goes in no problem and prints fine.
ohh, i forgot to add that it prints seamlessly from Chromebook as well. This is an unexpected benefit as neither of my printers can do this.

Phenomenal Printer
The HP Smart Tank Plus 651 is one of the best printers I've ever owned! Set up was ridiculously easy! I had it up and running within minutes.
One of my favorite features is the spill-free, easy-to-fill ink tanks! Not only are they super convenient but they also save me money on printing costs because I can use whatever ink I prefer.
The wireless printing and scanning make my life much easier. Whether I'm on my laptop, desktop or mobile phone I can print using the HP Smart App.
Another huge win for me is that it scans with ease.
If you're looking for a reliable, efficient and cost-effective printing option, this is it. I couldn't ask for a better home printer.

I need a printer that does NOT scale the image when printing. I print sewing patterns. If scaling resizes the image, pattern pieces will be inaccurate. They need to print in the actual size, unaltered. Does HP Smart Tank 651 auto-scale images or not?

problems with print spooler service which won't work. printer won't operate and continue getting message about spooler service not working. restarting the machine doesn't correct the problem.

Scanner does not pull papers when scanning in but thinks it scanned them
