Out the box ready for basic office work
As a graphic artist I looked forward to the smart tank. I use up ink a lot, all colors, so something that holds a lot of ink seemed great. And that feature is! I no longer would have to mess around with 3rd party continuos systems that are messy and risky to get the bulk ink I need. And for the average printer user I like the idea that it creates far less e waste. The program that is suggested to install for the computer doesn't actually do anything to set up documents (but still needed for drivers of course) and clicking on "print photo" simply opens up windows explorer and windows printer app which is generally horrible for printing complex images. I still have to open my files in my programs so not quite sure what the desktop app is for. Now, most printers when printing in standard mode use less ink and thus blacks will be slightly gray and other colors slightly dull. But the smart tank has no difference between standard and high quality, it's always giving 100% color, which is okay if you're a casual printer user and don't know about these settings. When I try photo/glossy paper it just gets way to vibrant, I'll have to mess with the settings some more. Simple files like cellphone photos seem to print fine. The blues are still a bit too strong and shadows/blacks have a blue hue to it. The best feature I like is the ability to connect the printer directly to the computer without internet wifi, as I don't have it in my house, but it's still wireless! So no cord is needed (less to get in my way yey) I wish the manual was more clear on paper loading but I figured out that special paper needed to be fed in upside down. I was worried if it would be able to handle thick paper, like photo or card stock, since it rolls the paper 180 but it managed fine. Colors from the printer seems to come out very close to the colors on my screen, and after two sittings messing with my files I managed to get my business images adjusted to print out in perfect color! (some didn't even need adjusting!) I look forward to using this for my tshirt business and my transfer paper test (vinyl) came out almost perfect. pure magenta does looks a bit strong, like plum on this paper. I also like it's simple slick design and easy to see ink levels. Pretty cool and fun to set up!

Easy to use!
We had a classic ink All-in-one printer and then we decided to change. Was an excellent change for us. We choose HP Smart -Tank 7001. Easy to assemble. The quality and colors are fantastic, vivid! My husband has all forms and docs printed clear and quick. I am a craft woman, I love to crochet and I need to print my patterns with all colors and details possible and now I have it, in vivid and real colors! You can easy monitor the use, as you can visualize the tanks. The printer has a set of ink is up to 2 years included.

Great printer
This HP Smart Tank 7001 printer is so great.
First off, it's not heavy, so moving it around is not difficult.
And the print quality is really good!
I slapped some pics on paper with this thing, and they came out crystally clear, just like those fancy photo prints.
Plus, it's got this automatic double-sided printing feature, which totally surprised me and made my life way easier.
What is more, it hooks up wirelessly, so printing straight from my phone is a piece of cake.
Overall, this printer's a game-changer.
I highly recommend it.

Fast and Clear
The HP Smart Tank 7001 was really easy to setup. The instructions in the packaging are simple to follow. Filling the ink was surprisingly easy and didn't spill, and only took a few seconds. Very happy with how sharp the lines are on this printer. I print out a lot of automotive electrical diagrams and they are very legible with sharp lines.

Great quality for all-in-one printer
This printer has multiple features which support your daily use or business. I did a test printing for color pictures, and also tried scan some documents, so easy to figure out once you connected to your PC. And I am very satisfy with the printing quality, very vivid color and clear, even beyond my expectation.
Setting up procedure is straightforward even for first time user like me. You need to download APP from APP/Android store first. I highly recommend to follow on each step displayed in the HP official videos, and when you finish each step, the APP will remind you to move to next.
Overall I am very satisfy with my decision for this printer, so easy to use and also not heavy to carry.

My best printer ever
This printer is the best printer I ever used, love it so much . Lightweight still very solid product. Easy to connect with devices save me a lot of time. Two years of ink is very important for me don’t have to worry running out of ink . Filling ink without dirt my hand that was awesome. This is the first double printing printer I’m using so cool. I’m using this printer for picture i satisfy with it .

High Speed, Nice Image
HP did not come to disappoint this time! This printer will last a lifetime and out does my Epson on speed, color clarity, and ink storage. It’s super easy to set up and prints more clearly than any printer I’ve ever owned! I love it and will definitely be sending my daughter off to college with one in the fall. It fits into my office space perfectly and the color is PERFECT for my asthetics. Whether you need to print school work, important documents, medical forms, work stuff, etc. this is the printer for you!!!

Easy setup, Easy print!
I loved this printer! The installation process is very easy, guided with several animations - so there's absolutely no room to error!
Also, I started to print some documents for school and everything went very smooth - great print quality! I recommend this printer for anyone looking for a multifunctional printer.
I also like the ink visor, that allows us to see if there's still ink in the toner - avoiding any problems of running low!

No more ink cartridges!
After years of printers that lasted only a few months, I am so happy to have finally found the HP Smart Tank 7001. It prints quickly and remotely and I couldn’t be happier. I love how versatile this printer is while still being compact. I can print in color, double sided, scan and copy and the printer fits easily on top of the bookshelf in my office. I found the printer easy to set up following the comprehensive instructions and have not had any issues with connectivity for remote printing. The best part of this printer is that it comes with up to two years of ink. Never again do I need to purchase costly cartridges saving me both time and money. I love the low cost per page of printing while still giving high quality, crisp images and text. I couldn’t be happier.

Cost-Efficient Upgrade: from HP 8720 to 7001
As a long-time HP printer user, I previously owned the OfficeJet Pro 8720 all-in-one printer, which I was quite happy with, though it did tend to go through ink rather quickly. This prompted my switch to the HP Smart Tank 7001. I must say, the Smart Tank 7001 has been a game changer in terms of reducing my printing costs significantly. Additionally, its more compact size is a huge plus, making it a perfect fit for my home office. I am extremely satisfied with this upgrade and highly recommend it for anyone looking to cut down on printing expenses without sacrificing quality.

Tank style printer rocks!
So far so good. Had it two weeks and it is printing sharp and distinct print quality.
Fast and quiet compared to my 10 year old printer. Ink levels show on front of printer for easy viewing. Buttons for printing and scanning on top front. Scanner works well and HP Smart App is super easy to use. Prints from all my devices remotely. Highly recommend HP products.

This actually printed one time. It is in error state. It was out of warranty before it was connected. It is a needless expense and has taken time (4 hours on- line with H/P.) There apparently was no warranty as H/P claimed it was "out of warranty.") I burned the box it came in I had always trusted H/P and saw no need to keep it. I am so disappointed in this product. Such a waste of time and money and yet I have no printer that works. I am not able at this time to buy another printer. It will have to wait for another S.S. check. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Superb Printers
The payer bought this printer for his daughter as a gift. I purchased a 6000 series printer
and loved it. This has to be the most superb printers on the market, what an ink saver plus the cost was outstanding and both printers were a breeze to set up. Great job HP as always. Thanks a million.

First Unit Was Defective
The printer seems to work pretty well, but getting to that point was an ordeal. First, HP sent me a "new" Smart Tank 7001 that didn't work at all. After three hours on the phone with tech support, we determined that it wasn't new at all; it had been returned under warranty as defective, and somebody repackaged it as new without fixing it, and sent it to me. Processing the return/replacement took another hour on the phone with HP. After the second unit arrived and got set up, I'm happy enough with it, but HP really ought to be able to do better by their customers.

Works good so far
So far the printer works great for what i’ve done so far. I did have some problems connecting my ipad to it for printing but after calling support I found out that the WiFi range is very limited. Once I moved to the same room the printer was in it worked fine. Still haven’t figured out how to print photos or envelopes, but it’s supposed to do it so I’ll figure it out.

Great Printer - very fast - excellent resolution - fantastic photo prints (no smears, lines or runs) and the Wi-Fi connection makes it incredibly convenient. You can place it anywhere in the room!

To be honest I did not try the printer. It most likely worked just fine. My reason for returning it was that it did not have an automatic document feeder. It surprises me that all printers don't have this as rarely what I ever have just one page to copy, by scanning on the glass. Usually there is more than one page double-sided. Imagining scanning each of those by hand would take some time. That is my only con to this printer as I did not take it out and try it

Broken out of the box. CHeaply made. Returned
The printer that arrived was brfoek out of the box, as was confirmned through lots of tech support. Was told that my options were to return and then wait for all of the processing and stuff to get a replacement- likely weeks away; or pay for another and then wait for my first to be refunded. The thing also felt very cheaply made and flimsy, so I just returned it for a refund.

What are the main differences between the HP Smart Tank 6001 and the 7001?
Hello. Thanks for your question. The HP Smart Tank 7001 printer has a bigger paper tray that can hold up to 250 sheets vs. 150 sheets on the HP Smart Tank 6001 printer. It can also hold up to 30 envelopes vs 10 envelopes on the HP Smart Tank 6001 printer. The HP Smart Tank 7001 printer can also print double-sided documents automatically. With the HP Smart Tank 6001 printer, you would need to manually turn the paper over.
