Some users get MORE than they want
The machine is GREAT, but the Windows 11 setup does not quite get up to sucks. Instead of just setting up a very good operating system, Microsoft forcibly installs their product line of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Edge and McAfee on to the setup. There are better apps and program out there, in my opinion, and dumping this merchandise onto the memory is a greedy move. Seems to me, a novice computer user should be able to choose to install only the operating system or to load all the Microsoft baggage.

Great Laptop
Love the backlight keyboard. Reinstalling everything was really easy. Some applications had to be reinstalled separately, but that was easy to do. The blue color is really nice and I love the size of the screen.

Shipping nightmare
I will never purchase another product from HP after the difficulty I experienced with their shipping resolution protocol.
Pros: The laptop eventually arrived in good condition and seems to work well
Cons:
- Expedited shipping did not result in the product arriving in the 2-4 business days as advertised
I received an email from HP that delivery would be approximately 10 business days after purchase, even with expedited shipping.
-When I reached out to HP to re-route the delivery to a different address I was assured the laptop would be delivered to the corrected address but told that no mechanism existed to prove I had requested the change or that the change had been processed.
-When the laptop was delivered to the incorrect address I was told 1) expedited shipping does not apply to special build items and 2) once the item is delivered HP no longer takes responsibility for it.
-Fed Ex informed me that they were not made aware of the corrected delivery instructions for 6 days after I requested the change (contrary to the report I received from HP customer service).
-Resolution offered to refund the expedited shipping fee but could not compensate the person hours I or my company spent tracking the item down (since it was delivered to the incorrect address).

No Computer!!!!!!!!
I cannot review it because I never recieved it. Fed Ex Never delivered the computer but said they did by leaving it at my garage(even though it was supposed to be signed for). My husband was coincidentally outside at the said drop off time. HP's response was to tell me to file a police report because Fed Ex said they delivered it(despite the fact that it needed to be signed for and there is no picture of the place where it was left)

I asked the chat person for more storage than I have on my laptop now. He put 1TB on the first one but it was not one I wanted so when we got to the 2 computer he didn’t and I didn’t catch it. Also I asked for student lifetime Microsoft but it says expiring 2025.

Poor Display - inaccurate color and poor visibility from most angles
Unfortunately, this model has a very poor display. It is very washed out, and the color is extremely inaccurate compared to other monitors, laptops and phones viewing the same content. If you stand, or look at the monitor from different angles, the display is almost unreadable, like a white film is clouding the whole screen.
I was hoping it was a defect with the product I received, but after spending the day on the phone with HP to troubleshoot, the issue was not fixed. They worked with me to purchase a second, identical model and return the first one. The replacement was exactly the same as the first, it is an inherent issue with the model. The rest of the functionality seems fine. But a good display is critical for most consumers. I'll also note that the silver color and white key lettering makes it very hard to read the keyboard, even with the backlight turned on.

Lousy service
I can only rate this as a 1 not because of the way the laptop is working. I haven't been able to turn it on. When it was received it was missing the cord that plugs into the laptop. I contacted HP who said they would send it. No cord yet, will start return today before my return time expires. In checking the shipment still shows pending.

Meh ... we're still using phones.
Seems to work fairly well. Difficult to get the hang ot the touch pad without clearly defined left- and right-click areas. "Blue" color option is a misnomer. Not worth the extra $. Screen doesn't open far enough to be comfortable on a, um, LAP. It's gonna be a slow progression from the phone.

The realest review
I have had a few issues with this laptop. The biggest problem being internet connections. It seems I have to restart my computer every time I want to use it after sleep mode because it cannot find an issue. Windows 11 also is not super user friendly in this instance as there are settings that cannot be changed or updated as they used to be on Windows 10. I thought I was buying a touch screen with a backlight keyboard and it has neither. I don't know if it is false advertising or if because I chose a Forest Green option that it is somehow a lesser quality laptop. I have tried calling customer support and these issues have seemed less than helpful. I am not a fan of the Realtek wifi option on the laptop and Windows 11 has been a huge adjustment. That all aside I like the sleekness of the laptop and the color options that were available. It can sync with my phone which is convenient for me as well as being pretty fast to update, restart, shut down, and start up. I like the number pad beside the keyboard, and the F keys being able to adjust my volume, brightness, etc. I like the modern look of the laptop, I just wish it at least had the backlight keypad option with this color option. I would recommend a different laptop to myself now knowing it does not have the backlight keypad or a touch screen. In this instance I believe I paid way too much for a pretty basic laptop. I also wish it had one or two more USB ports on the laptop. The battery life is pretty good, the laptop overall is a good size. I use my laptop almost every day and aside from what is listed above, I really don't have a complaint about the versatility of the laptop. It is definitely user friendly also.

OK PC with Loss of Network Connection
I bought a HP Pavilion laptop, and it is a fair computer. It is faster than my older laptop, but it has one very problematic issue. It loses the network connection frequently. I have to reset the network connection almost every time I use it. This is very annoying, and I have never experienced this issue with other computers I have owned or used. Requires stopping what I am doing, resetting the network connection (which takes it 5 minutes to begin), and then will work so long as you don't let it time out and go to power saver mode. The other issue with the computer is it has a fingerprint identifier which works less than 50% of the time. Usually have to sign in using my PIN instead of fingerprint.

I was using chromebooks for the past several years but they have gotten so expensive and have expiration dates for security updates, I decided to go back to a laptop and couldn't be happier with my purchase. This model is faster than expected with multiple tabs open and various spreadsheets open as well. If you're on the fence about purchasing, don't be. Product delivers as (or more) than promisded.

Power button
I haven't had it very long, so far the only thing I can think of that knocks it down from 5 stars is that the power button is within the top line of buttons. If you're in the dark you don't know which button to push until you memorize which one it is.

can you ad 2 monitors if you use a splitter
You can use a splitter, but it can degrade the quality of the pass through, and it will not separate the screens. The external would then be a mirror. The USB-C on the device does include 1.4 DisplayPort, so that would be another option for a second display that would not be a mirrored.

Does this laptop have an Ethernet connection?
As HP Support already stated, no it does not have an ethernet port. I have this very laptop. Just purchase a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. They're $20 or less. I've have zero issues doing this as an IT pro.
