Work horse but stubborn at "printing"
While the refurb printer is working like a horse, the lag between the time my computer tells my printer to "print" is excruciatingly l-o-n-g.

Does not always print
Seems to have some sort of issues. I have had to reboot it to get things to print a couple of times. I replaced the printer cable yesterday to see if that helps.

Don’t buy refurbs!
Error codes said there was a bad motor. HP charged me a restocking fee to turn a broken printer. Don’t buy refurbs!

Not happy
Product isn't good at all. I have to print "heavy" to get it print viewable good text and that makes printer slower. The xtra sheet tray add-on....not even sure it works. Not happy at all.

Good quality printer but only prints two sided
Even with duplex printing disabled, this printer only prints two sided. If you need a printer that prints one sided, this isn’t for you.

How do I darken the prints?

A Google search says that a HP87X toner cartridge will work with this printer. Is this correct? We may be replacing our HP M506 printer shortly, but have 87X cartridges with a lot of ink left in them

Do this print photos
Hello. Thanks for your question. This HP LaserJet Pro M404dn printer is a black-and-white laser printer. The laser printer has larger dots which are better for documents. If you do photos, you will notice that they look grainy due to the larger dots. The inkjet printers have smaller dots which create better photos and documents.
