Locally purchased HP cartridges have far less printing life than the ones sent through Instant Ink. Of course, it is the excellent quality of the HP printers that makes this all true.

I have had my old printer since 2015. It's was a lot better than this one. I can't even read the wording on the printer because it's so small.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tired of the Game from When it works, it really works! There isn't a lot say. It's an ink cartridge that fits a lot of different printers. It makes lovely prints when it is working. I have to wrestle with the printer settings to stop it from guzzling color ink on black and white documents, and that is by HP's design. They call it "High Quality Greyscale" and it's quite a gimmick. These cartridges usually stop working in my house long before they register as empty anyway and no amount of print head cleaning solves the problem. We don't do a lot of printing, and I have heard many theories about why this happens, but I don't know for sure. I would love to pay more for a product that doesn't stop working a year after I install it, but I don't think printer manufacturers are interested in that as much as they are in guaranteeing regularly returning customers. My next purchase will not be an HP genuine ink cartridge. I will roll the dice on the aftermarket.

I bought my current printer as a replacement because after using authentic HP ink cartridges and not realizing they were expired before it gunked up my print head. I loved that HP printer!

It was my error that caused a double-order, in that I forgot to reach for the XL option, and had to cancel/return the first order. Of course, I had already bought a supply from local vendor, but I wanted to get more, and considered pricing as a critical factor. 4/5?: It's my fault, but I wanted to write this. I don't know how long it will last, but I will remain a loyal customer. I'll be using the return envelope for the empty cartridges, but that will happen after I buy my next batch; I don't want to be without it, so I'll buy more before sending back empties.
