I installed it but couldn't align the printhead and several attempts to do so caused the cyan color to disappear completely. Cleaning the electrodes didn't help. Exchanging the first cartridge to another new cartridge did cure the problem.I notice that the cyan slit has open spaces where is no ink. To answer your question- recommending to a friend, this is he first time that I have ever had a problem with a HP product.

The thing that I really liked though was that there was a prepaid envelope to send the empty ink cartridges to be recycled. I appreciate this as we tend to just compound the number of empty cartridges with the intend to take it to Staples but forgetting or not having the time to make a separate trip for it.
