Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Frame dips and lag spikes. no thank you i wish i hadn't bought a gaming laptop, i'll be back to desktops only in the future. theres preloaded software with so many options to toggle on how to boost this and that and something is interfering with my apex legends gaming experience with massive lag spikes that are 100% not network related. i'm past the 30 day return period and now i'm stuck with this $4000 lemon. My last gaming laptop was an MSI and worked flawlessly. I wont be using any HP products in the future

Rated 5 out of 5 by nasc from HP OMEN MAX 16 beast HP omen max 16 is good device. it provide solid performance with good rendering and gaming capabilities. with 275hx i found it superior or par with most of apple m4 max devices. this is a laptop for you to buy if you want a high end desktop substitute.

I converted to the Macbook Pro for office use with the advent of Apple Silicon but I have always kept two laptops as I do almost all of my work from my Laptop and I cannot afford to be down waiting on a Laptop repair but so when I switched to Mac I kept my most current Windows Laptop which had an 11th gen Intel processor and a 3070 graphics card as my backup and used it to play games mostly as it was my back up. I waited for several years before I bought a new (windows) laptop (as I now have an m4 Pro Max as my primary) because honestly I was not in any way impressed with the Windows Laptop scene the last 3 years. That changed this year with the Omen 16 as I was a previous Omen owner a decade ago and I actually really liked those laptops and then they became absolute crap but started at CES the Omen 16 caught my eye and then I waited until some reviews came out and then I made my purchase. Look its heavier than my Mac, does not run as cool and doesnt feel quite as premium as Apple has nailed small light powerful and premium but OMG the Omen 16 is lightyears ahead of any Windows Laptop I have ever used. I despise a laptop that performs only if the fans are spinning so hard the laptop is hovering over my desk and this is the first and only Windows Laptop I have every used that on the lower performance settings absolutely nails good performance AND fan speed that doesnt sound like your sitting beside an airplane propeller. It is a solid peformer and if you don't care about fans look you can get your fill of fan noise by cranking the performance up but it performs so well (and I have the 5080 version) that you don't have to crank it up like that. I use mine again mostly for Windows games and I use it almost exclusively tethered to a 34" moniter in a desktop (lite) format with a keyboard and mouse and with the laptop closed and the exhaust setup allows for the laptop to work perfectly in that scenerio as screen does not have to be up for the fans to work effeciently which was one of things I was looking for design wise. Having said as much the Omen 16 screen is absolutely beautiful as I got the OLED screen as again this is my backup work laptop and if I am using it as a laptop then I wanted somethign good look at and it does not disappoint. In fact I have seen some reviewers call this the best Laptop Screen they have ever seen and I cannot disagree with that. HP thank you for getting serious once again about producing quality Windows Laptops in the Omen line and I am very happy with my purchase!

The B64BNUA#ABA version of this laptop offers a 2560x1600 IPS screen, however it looks like the upgrade options for this version (A4NQ6AV_1) only has OLED 2560x1600 options. Would it be possible to get a 2560x1600 IPS upgrade option for this model too?

The HP Support specifications page for this model (16-ah0000) shows a 2560x1600 OLED, 2560x1600 IPS, and a 1920x1200 IPS display option, however the HP Store page shows 2 different 2560x1600 OLED options and a 1920x1200 IPS option.Which is correct?

Is the middle ($+60) display a 2560x1600 IPS or OLED? The HP specs page (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_11956280-11966673-16) shows one 2560x1600 IPS and one 2560x1600 OLED option but the HP store page here shows two 2560x1600 OLED options?
