Another HP laptop in service
I work from home and use the laptop for business purposes. I use office 360, MS teams for meetings/calls, prepare presentations and author safety articles. I don't have an IT department. so i am dependent on having a well performing laptop and programs to make life easy. This is a replacement for a prior HP laptop. I find a two+ year life span is all I can expect as a non-techy user. I have become accustomed to a backlit keyboard as I used the laptop in many locations and travel. I didn't think it was useful before i got it and now it is essential. I also like to hard plastic vs rubber keys on my prior laptop. My camera is a critical tool for the many virtual meetings we now participate in. I was told that my picture and voice have greatly improved over prior laptop device. moving files from one laptop to another is so easy for a non-tech like me. prior years i needed a 'professional' to get me set-up. i must admit that the selection of a laptop at times seemed too complicated with too many choices and options. When I considered if my current laptop allowed me to perform the task I needed, it simplified my search to match or incrementally upgrade from my existing laptop. adding that my storage on the cloud eliminates fears for storage on the actual laptop, I eliminated the concern for a massive storage on the unit. I do look to stay with Intel as my primary guarantee for performance and i7 and iRISx Graphics make me confident I have the 'right engine under the hood". While I may see occasional value in a touch screen, most in business settings i'm in rarely use it - nice but not necessary. I suppose the same could be said for a backlit key board, but I do see the value in that almost daily, so personal preferences do apply. Having purchased Dell, Lenovo, and Acer laptops over the years, i can state the HP is preference. That goes for the printers as well. They just work and get the job done.

The laptop perform as expected for being new. I was concerned about the ad stating that the CPU processor speed was up to 5 Ghz but failed to mention that the base speed was only 1.7 Ghz. One of the reason I bought this computer was the number of cores and threads plus the processor speed. I am waiting to see how well the computer processor speed will be affected when there is more files, programs and apps on the computer. Also, I delete the McAfee trial software. I am not a fan of McAfee.

Recent HP Laptop purchase.
Ordering a PC from the HP website was a pleasant experience. Once I decided on the model it was extremely easy to build a PC with the additional features I wanted and then compare my version with other out-of-box choices. New HP laptop
This hardware only recognizes a very narrow range of microphones with the mike input and through USB. So the mic input is critical for my use, it's a big issue for me. It took quite a while of playing around before the laptop recognized my fairly new Pixel ear buds. Magically, one day it did - strange. The performance is good. All other aspects are good.

My Wife LOVED it!!
This was a surprise Christmas gift for my wife, and she LOVED it!! Being able to choose the color and changing the configuration was a game changer! Getting the backlit keyboard was a winner, since she's had trouble seeing in the dark!
This was an upgrade from her older laptop, so I don't see there being a problem with swapping over all her documents and stuff!

Poor screen and slow
This was supposed to be a cyber Monday deal. I paid 380 for a i5, 8g ram, and IPS screen. My gripe is mainly with the screen. You have to tilt the screen back for it to be clear. Even at this the screen hurts my eyes to look at. IPS should be clear at almost any angle. Second thing is this computer is slow for having a i5. Performs about how I would expect a i3 to run. Basic things like turning on and installing programs are slow. Computer is probably worth 380, but certainly was not a bargain. Still waiting for hp to approve my return.

Custom HP Pavilion build that is head and shoulders above all my previous equipment!
It was well past time to replace my ten-year old HP laptop, which served me well during that time, and HP holiday sale prices provided the best opportunity to get the most bang for my buck!
I configured an HP Pavilion 15 laptop in Silver to specs that are best for my home use. I chose Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1355u processor + Intel Iris graphics, 16 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM, 1 TB PCIe NVMe 2 SSD, upgraded FHD IPS anti-glare WLED backlit display, backlit keyboard, and I also included an HP external DVD burner and optical mouse, all for an unbelievable price!
This laptop is stunningly beautiful as well as blazingly fast! I received timely updates from HP on the progress of my custom build as well as shipping updates upon completion. My new HP laptop was delivered to my door within 2 weeks of my order and with free shipping!
Set-up was a breeze! So far, I have only just scratched the surface of the features and performance of this machine as I look forward to many years of fun and reliable use.
I consider myself an advanced user, having built desktops and upgraded, repaired, and maintained all of my equipment and network over the years and as such, I couldn’t be more pleased with this laptop!

can you ad 2 monitors if you use a splitter
You can use a splitter, but it can degrade the quality of the pass through, and it will not separate the screens. The external would then be a mirror. The USB-C on the device does include 1.4 DisplayPort, so that would be another option for a second display that would not be a mirrored.
