Very fast laptop. Very convenient to be able to sign in with face recognition, fingerprint, or PIN. My existing Microsoft account integrated very nicely with Windows 11. Very pleased.

Do not buy!!!
Beware- do not buy. Purchased and arrived defective. The keyboard did not work, HP had me ship it back to be "fixed" even though I contacted them 5 times starting on thr day it arrived. Was told it would be 6 weeks to repair as they were waiting on parts. Was told they could not ship me a replacement. Only option was to upgrade to a different model which was not on sale and no discount offered or wait the 6 weeks for repair. Customer service awful and laptop unusable.

Had this product 3 days and it completely died at a client's office. Per HP's instructions, I took it to Best Buy and they determined there was no fixing it.

Great laptop except for the lack of buttons for the trackpad
Great laptop except for the lack of buttons for the trackpad. This has to be the most vivid displaty colours I have ever seen. It is nice to have a usb power jack. The hard drive and computer processor have the capacity and power I need for all my tasks. Having to click on a trackpad with no buttons is difficult for people with essential tremor: when you lcick the mouse jumps so you end up clicking the wrong thing.

Think Twice Before You Buy!
I switched from a Dell to this HP; Dell was 7 years old and the processor speed was slow. I thought I was upgrading to a better machine; unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. My primary use is for income tax preparation and the new HP doesn't run the software any better than the old Dell. Big disappointment.

Does this configuration come with an ethernet port? Also, can the memory be changed by the customer or is on-board memory?
It does not come with an ethernet port. While you can customize the RAM or swap it out, it is not designed to do so easily after the initial build has been made. If you would want to do so at a later point, you would want to first contact HP Support to avoid voiding the warranty. You can have it preset with up to 64GB of DDR5-5200.

will this work with the HP Ultra Slim Docking Station? The docking station says it runs on 65W A/C adapter, and the 860 elitebook G10 runs on a 100w powercord, so I am worried it won't work.

Does this require a fingerprint or face to unlock it or can a passcode be used? Does this have photo card slots? How many usb ports are there? Does 64 gb mean that is the total amount of actual storage it has or does it have the 1 T? I don't know diff.
It does have support for fingerprint and face unlock, but you can choose to use a password or passcode instead. It does not have a SD card slot and would require an external adapter if you want to use one. It has four USB ports in total, two USB A and two USB C. The 64GB is the RAM (Random Access Memory) and the 1TB is the storage where you keep your data on this unit.
