They don't make them like they used to
They really don't make them like they used to. I've had HPs that have lasted 5+ years - the last 10 HP's I've bought for my company have had issues within 1 year of purchase. Some right after the 1 year warranty period. This one in particular didn't last a month. HP refused to allow a return even within the 30 days. So we're not buying HP's ever again.

Solid Enterprise System with a Few Quirks
Screen resolution and brightness are great, good keyboard. Build quality is excellent. The BIOS settings are overly complex compared to the default AMI or InsydeH2O menus.
The power button is like another keyboard button which is an unusual decision, keeping the fingerprint reader separate. The webcam seems to perform better than the competition, once you install the IPU driver.
Software wise, everything works as expected, except that OS logos do not appear if you boot with rEFInd, and installing the latest Adrenalin GPU driver from AMD will leave you with a black screen and a reboot into System Recovery. You’ll have to stick with OEM provided drivers for now.
The 5G modem from Mediatek/Intel is pretty good and supports all 3 US carriers. It works in Linux as long as you don’t have an eSIM and don’t use a MVNO.

Since the laptop is touch screen are there any pens compatible with it
Thank you for your question! The base version of this HP EliteBook 845 G11 Notebook PC does not feature a touchscreen display. This is customizable and a touchscreen can be chosen. However, as this does not have a tablet mode feature it will not be compatible with active stylus pens. The versions that have a touchscreen will still be compatible with passive stylus pens. Like the active stylus, you can tap or write directly on a screen with a passive stylus (also called a capacitive stylus). But unlike an active stylus, the passive/capacitive stylus doesn't have touch sensitivity or electronic components. There's no communication between the stylus and the device.
