Lasts a long time. Probably a year.
I had trouble at first putting the toner cartridge in the printer and gave up and then went back to it and lo and behold, it slipped right in. A miracle. I would hope that you will include printed directions in the box for next time. Hard to read the ones on the cartridge. I am wholly satisfied now.

The HP Cartridge is so easy to use and install. I ordered it online when I was notified the toner is low. Came within the week. Even though the toner was low, I was still able to use the old cartridge until the print was not legible - another three weeks it lasted! The cartridge lasts longer and is easy to manage. HP makes it easy to do business with the company.

Under the promised number of copies by a.lot.
I was disappointed with the number of copies HP claims as a capacity for the 17A cartridge, as determined by the short life of my last cartridge. I also do not understand what the drum at 80% does and means. If this cartridge does not deliver the 1600+ copies I will be sore about it. The last cartridge only delivered 62% before it ran out. These refills aren't cheap and it is therefor important the product delivers as promised. I understand it varies for what is printed, but nothing was out of the ordinary and all copies had white backgrounds. Comments?
