Rated 2 out of 5 by MacHead from Still Runs Hot! The 65W charger that came with the laptop would reach 135 degrees F. I ordered the 110W version thinking that it might just idle along rather than full throttle. This one still runs upwards of 120 degrees F.

Rated 3 out of 5 by vandermude from Overly stiff cable makes it hard to handle Although the cable winds around the charger for easy storage, the stiffness of the cable makes it hard to wind and unwind. It also means that the cable does not lie flat. It would be better to have the cable more flexible.

is this compatable with a HP Laptop 17-cp3047nr?

Asked by: Jflowers
The HP 17 Laptop PC 17-cp3000 (799U9AV) normally uses the 741727-001 which is a 4.5mm barrel charger. It is capable of using a USB-C charger and while USB-C will limit the charge, a better option would be the HP USB-C 65W Laptop Charger (671R2AA) https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-usb-c-65w-laptop-charger since it only needs 45W. Thank you for your question.

Why create a charging adapter that eats up one of the limited USB-C ports? This forces folks to buy a docking station w/ passthrough or a charger for the "normal" power-in port just to connect peripherals using the bandwidth of the 2 Thunderbolt ports.
