Rated 1 out of 5 by Richard in DE from Still no working laptop I purchased this HP OmniBook in March, and after multiple warranty repairs and repeated delays, I still do not have a reliable working computer nearly six months later. The support process has been frustrating, slow, and unhelpful, with dates kept changing and no clear resolution. I expected much better reliability and service from HP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by desertracer from It's OK The HP Omnibook 5 is ok, but nothing to write home about. It has it's limitations. For instance, quite a few things cannot be done with it. If your printer is not ARM compatible, it won't work. If you try and load another operating system such as Linux, it won't allow it. However, if you just surfing the web and checking email, it's ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Manwyze from Keyboard is lame This computer is great for speed and use. However, I made the mistake of not reading all the specifications carefully. I was disappointed by the keyboard not having a number pad and not having a back light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Suzanne K from Highly Recommend I was asked to provide a review of my recent purchase. I’ve had my HP OmniBook 5 16fb0037nr AI LT for about a month and a half. So far, it is all I could have asked for or wanted. I don’t claim to be any expert, but I do know what works and doesn’t for me. It was easy to set up. I hit the ground running with my content creating, among other things, though I never do any gaming. Display / images are vivid, sound is perfect, everything works well during zoom meetings. Hmm, what else? Oh, the battery is phenomenal. I can’t say exactly how long I can go without charging, but let’s just say I work and work and kinda forget that it’s not plugged in. Then when I do charge it is lightning fast. It took me a minute to get used to the keyboard, though, but not an issue. I honestly can’t think of anything negative. Having said that, I haven’t had it all that long. Fingers crossed it keeps performing well for years to come! My hope is HP will have responsive customer support should I ever do need their assistance with a problem, though. Bottom line: I highly recommend this laptop, which I purchased directly from the HP website and had shipped to my home.

Rated 3 out of 5 by K Groz from great display disappointing battery function outstanding display, integrated old laptop info beautifully, light weight, delivery took longer than promised (sent wrong model), bought this model on expected battery performance, but have been disappointed by battery being depleted faster than i expected also w/battery performance in mind tried to limit charging to 80 % of max but model does not have that capability (though other models do), I always reserve a star for long term reliability

Rated 5 out of 5 by ebk02 from Georgous OLED screen, good battery life, Snap Dragon handles multi-tasks well I have had good experiences with HP laptops - and this one is no exception. Keyboard has a good feel, and 2 level backlight. Touch pad is very spacious, and also is responsive. The screen is a brilliant OLED, so colors really pop - great for streaming. Don't let the 300 nits spec fool you - it is plenty bright for indoor use. The Snap Dragon processor requires less power, so even though it is a 16 inch display, I expect to get 8 hours or more with just the usual internet, videos, etc. Of course, will depend on screen brightness, and processing demands. The processor handles multiple tasks well, and doesn't seem to slow down. I do recommend getting rid of all the extra "junk" that comes preinstalled. This would definitely benefit from either a 1Tb SSD, or a micro SD slot for additional storage. At full price it is a little pricey but still a good buy, and if you catch it on sale, it is a steal.....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tharris83 from Blacked out It was all good until a moth after I received it. I opened it up and the screen was black. I had to return it and I'm still waiting for my replacement to be sent back. Now I've probably lost my job because I don't have my computer that I still owe $700 on but can't use it to work to make money to pay for the computer I had a whole month.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MC Philadelphia from Nice Windows 11 Laptop with Excellent 16 inch Screen Very nice laptop, excellent 16” OLED screen I dropped a star because the Snapdragon X microprocessor does not support the the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (basic), so I expect that there may be incompatibilities. I also miss the numeric keypad that used to standard for larger laptops.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Versys650 from Not a fan of this processor. Too weak. If I had known the limitations of an ARM processor, I wouldn't have bought this laptop. I still haven't figured out how to link it to my Brother printer via wifi. I have one application that is quite demanding. This laptop really slows down when using that app.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JD Partridge from Faulty. I have had it for a week. The screen does not turn on after sleeping and on startup sometimes. I will be returning this. I can't trust something that is trash and not in EXPECTED and ADVERTISED operating condition. This is actually a 0 star review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RS John from Great value for money and a work horse Laptop is very fast and the best for multi tasking. I would say this laptop has the best battery power in the industry. After using all day using this for patient documentation, I had 72% left. I can literally go 2 days without charging. I wouldn't choose this for a slim laptop. GREAT BUY

Rated 1 out of 5 by RL The Deuce from New Does Not Mean Anything Out of the box this computer was a dud. I had problems powering it on. I followed online steps, I called HP tech service, and finally shipped a new computer back to have it repaired. HP has had my new computer longer than I have. I would have thought HP would have said "Let us ship you another laptop". In the future, make it where a customer can talk with someone in the states.

Rated 4 out of 5 by USAFChiefK from Responsive and Solid, but.... Found out after purchase that Snap Dragon processor has a different "architecture" than Intel or AMD processors so I can't access my LAN drive because the software will not work on this system. It would have been nice to know there might be a difference in how this system works in comparison to the many other HP systems I have purchased over the years. HP.com has my purchase history.....just say'in.

how do i turn on the backlit keyboard

Asked by: slugs
Yes, the HP OmniBook 5 includes a backlit keyboard designed to help you stay productive in any lighting. How to adjust the backlight: Look for the key in the top function row (usually F5) that features an icon resembling a small, glowing rectangle with light rays emanating from it. Press this key to toggle your brightness levels. If it doesn't activate, try pressing fn (bottom row) + F5 simultaneously.
