    Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Do not buy - PC is a lemon The first couple of days the PC worked fine. Three updates were queued in the HP Support Assistant. As soon as I installed those updates, when I rebooted as required by the update, I can log into Windows 11. But after getting into Windows 11, no programs will launch. To make a long story short, within days, I had to reset the PC and I have to reset on a biweekly basis. I have turned off HP Support Assistant updates and hope that will make the PC function for a longer period of time. I will probably end up having to buy a different PC sooon, but it will not be an HP. Do not buy from HP!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by Linux Fan from Excellent Performance for the Price Fantastic performance for the price, and the AMD/ATI combo works really well with Fedora Linux 40. The only complaint with this system is that you can only get it shipped with Windows, and there is no Linux option to pre-install. However, booting from a USB stick with a Linux installer was very easy, just turn off secure boot in the BIOS and boot from the stick and you're rolling.

However, the "fps" feature on the site is misleading in what games you can actually play at the specs I chose. With 8gb of DDR4 it told me I'd be able to play graphic-intensive games like GTAV and GoW at 1440p at at least 25fps, but it wouldn't even play Homeworld 3 at medium graphics, even crashed multiple times saying "out of memory". Had to upgrade it myself to 32gb of DDR4 (thankfully it was able to be manually upgraded) and this seems to have solved the problem, will actually now play HW3 on epic graphics at 4k (both native and game res set to this) and only hiccups every once and a while. Windows 11 is extremely aggravating to set up. They force you to sign in with an online MS account during initial setup (there's no way around it as it ships with Home edition), the tying all your main folders to One Drive, which even if you remove, you can't redirect the folders. Not to mention in W11 they've removed or hidden a ton of very useful windows features, and the OS itself is quite privacy-invasive. Looks good and is speedy but otherwise trash. Overall, would recommend this custom tower for a gamer on a budget, just get more than 8gb of RAM.

Although I’m not a gamer, I create animated videos, and I’m impressed by the speed of my new system. It allows me to produce some of my best work. Kudos to the HP employees—I’ve been a loyal customer for the past 25 years or so and will continue to be in the future!

I upgraded from a fairly old Dell so it should be a very noticeable improvement and I have not really ran it through its paces yet so to speak. It is a gaming unit and I am not really a gamer but I was hoping the extra power would be just the thing for video transfer and editing for instance.

So far however - it seems to work fine and I love the small footprint. It's the second HP Win11 gaming PC I purchased in the last 3 months. The first one works great and is why I bought another. The only thing I regret was not anteing up for a fully loaded one.

I usually build my own, but after the pandemic I had to sell my old system thanks to upgrading video cards and CPU’s being stupidly hard. since then, I’ve wanted my PC set up back, without all the work of building a new system. I saw this one on sale, did some research, watched some benchmarks for all of my favorite games I played on console and some other games I’m waiting to release in the future, and decided to bite the bullet. I don’t regret it at all! that being said though - it is a very small computer. the case is TINY, and these are very powerful components with stock fans so it gets hot. the only thing I can recommend/change is putting new fans inside so your components are properly cooled but I will say, as long as you have your fans on max in the OMEN hub you’re good to go. I never hit more than 75°C with my GPU, but just to play it safe I would replace the fan or if you don’t have the expertise to do so - purchase a window fan, stick it in the side, turn it on to the ‘exhaust’ option, and you’re good to go.

My only problem is my pc makes noise when starting ip and shutting down and occasionally while I’m using the pc. Doest affect my gameplay at all but it’s a very load noise like my fan grinding on something. I’m determining whether I want to keep it or return it while I still can. Can anyone help me as it’s my first pc and I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.

Overall, it is very responsive, has plenty of usb ports available, it's quiet, and the AMD Ryzen 7 processor is a great processor.
