Poor customer service
Poor customer service. I bought this product then realized it was not needed with the HP laptop I purchased. Tried several times to return it and they never offered that as an option. I was prepared to pay a restocking fee but now they kept the entire $250 and didn't even respond to my refund request. I would not recommend purchasing from HP!

Dock is useless
I would not recommend this product to anyone. My Dock is useless, with only the ability to supply power to the note book. None of the USB or HDMI ports function, I opened HP Case Number: 5147997772 on 8/29/25 yet no response absolutely zero help from the validation team so I'm stuck with a very expensive brick. Don't waste your time or money

Excellent hub + power for HP laptops
I read a lot of reviews on the hub not supporting HDMI well. I went ahead and bought it and connected my external 24" LG monitor, 2 network cables (one via a USB-C adapter), external HDD, mouse. Have been using it for over a month and it works perfectly for all devices. Really nice that all of these devices + power are all supplied via the single USB-C to my HP laptop. Maybe once a week or so the external HDMI monitor disconnects for 1-2 seconds then comes back without issues. I wouldn't call that a problem. Highly recommend getting this to eliminate the cable clutter to a laptop. Makes it really simple to disconnect everything for when I need to take my laptop with me.

Waste of money
It is a piece of garbage. I have downloaded every patch and it still is not working right. Seems if I buy a laptop and a dock from HP they could make sure everything works right. Cannot even use the thing.

Does this support extending my laptop display to dual 4k monitors at 30hz or higher?
I have g5 dock and HP ProBook 450 g6 and two 4K monitors on display port cable, which are connected to dock. They work in 4K 60hz (30hz blinks - not good for me), but you have to enable in HP computer Setup: High resolution mode when connected to a USB-C DP alt mode dock option (see hp support).

What DP to VGA Adapters work with this dock?
Yes it does. I have 2 dell monitors hooked up to the dock with DP to VGA adapters and it works fine.

My monitors only accept DVI. Will I run into problems if I use a display port to DVI adapter or HDMI to DVI adapter?
Hello and thank you for your question! You may encounter audio problems. But the video will transfer without issues. DVI is not made to receive audio signals.

My display isn't showing up through the HDMI port through the Docking station. Only as a direct connect to the monitor. Is my Laptop compatible with the G5 Docking station? Laptop 17.3 17cp0xxx
It may be due to driver issues and what not. I had an automatic BIOS update and it stopped working after that. Looked around and saw it automatically checked for driver updates for my monitor so I updated them and then it seemed to work. Every now and then I may run into issues of the external display not showing up so a simple unplug and plug usually seems to do the trick. I'd say try looking around online for similar issues and solutions to your problem.

How can I use two monitors at 4k quality? Currently I have one monitor will operate at 4k on a display port but the other monitor can not.
Hi, you can go to BIOS and activate High resolution mode, this will let you use higher resolution. However this will(or used to) reduce network and/or USB speeds.

Thank you for your question! No, the HP Laptop 17t-cn300 has a USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors). That port will not be compatible with Docks.
