SLOW printer! Disappointed
Horrible printer. It is VERY slow. It sounds like an old laser printer from years ago going back and forth. It takes forever to print one page! Not happy at all with this printer. Very disappointed.

Purchase Regrets
Horrible setup. Scanner doesn't work. Have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling HP app and scanner still isn't working. System setup keeps asking for a CD to complete scanner setup, which didn't come with the printer.
AI support chat is useless due to limited troubleshooting question/answer function.
Only thing this printer does is print. All other functionalities are useless because they don't work no matter how many times the app is uninstalled and reinstalled. Also it prints at snail speed.
Starting to regret buying this printer.

Good printer for the $$
I’ve been using our new HP Smart Tank 5103 printer for a month now. There are several features I love: 2 years worth of ink included. No need to constantly buy ink cartridges. Print quality is amazing; I’ve printed multiple photos already and they are definitely sharp and clear enough to use as art in my apartment. The unit is light and compact. It was very difficult to get it to connect wirelessly to my WiFi. I had to spend a lot of time over 3 days to get it to find the WiFi signal. I reset everything multiple times and finally on day 3 it found it. The printer is slow and very noisy. Since it’s only me in the office, I can handle it but I really expected this high quality printer to be quieter. Overall I’m happy with the purchase; just wish a couple of things were better about it

Smart Tank 5103 perfection
HP knows! I was looking for good quality - low cost ink printer and I sure found it. The Smart Tank 5103 was the perfect addition to my home office, I can print documents from my phone and any device at home, with the same quality as any other printer, even better. The setup was very fast and easy and the use is even more. I recommend this printer to anyone who want to save money in ink cartridges.

Goodbye ink cartridges
The main selling point or me on this was the tank system. So far it seems so much more cost effective to use the bottles and tanks rather than a cartridge. Everything else with this printer works flawlessly. Zero issues with up and it’s a breeze to use from my phone to print photos or documents. I would definitely recommend this printer.

I have an HP LaserJet MFPM140W (30A2AC). According to its print menu, I should be able to print on both sides of a sheet. But when I indicate that that is what I want to do, the printer still prints out two sheets.

And the following paper weights: Plain paper: 16 to 24 lb; Envelopes: 20 to 24 lb; Cards: up to 110 lb; Photo paper: up to 80 lb.
This should be compatible with most if not all address labels designed for inkjet printers.

I have 2 questions. Is downloading the app required in order to set up and use this printer? If I do not print often is this still a good printer for me? Thanks.
The HP Smart app is not required for the setup. There are benefits to it and you will need it for scanning if you want to scan, but not for making copies. This is a good unit for someone that does not print often but keep the cost of ink low. Depending on the volume that you print, it could last you more than one year before you need to get new refill bottles.

Can transfer paper be used in printer?
