SLOW printer! Disappointed
Horrible printer. It is VERY slow. It sounds like an old laser printer from years ago going back and forth. It takes forever to print one page! Not happy at all with this printer. Very disappointed.

Purchase Regrets
Horrible setup. Scanner doesn't work. Have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling HP app and scanner still isn't working. System setup keeps asking for a CD to complete scanner setup, which didn't come with the printer.
AI support chat is useless due to limited troubleshooting question/answer function.
Only thing this printer does is print. All other functionalities are useless because they don't work no matter how many times the app is uninstalled and reinstalled. Also it prints at snail speed.
Starting to regret buying this printer.

Good printer for the $$
I’ve been using our new HP Smart Tank 5103 printer for a month now. There are several features I love: 2 years worth of ink included. No need to constantly buy ink cartridges. Print quality is amazing; I’ve printed multiple photos already and they are definitely sharp and clear enough to use as art in my apartment. The unit is light and compact. It was very difficult to get it to connect wirelessly to my WiFi. I had to spend a lot of time over 3 days to get it to find the WiFi signal. I reset everything multiple times and finally on day 3 it found it. The printer is slow and very noisy. Since it’s only me in the office, I can handle it but I really expected this high quality printer to be quieter. Overall I’m happy with the purchase; just wish a couple of things were better about it

Smart Tank 5103 perfection
HP knows! I was looking for good quality - low cost ink printer and I sure found it. The Smart Tank 5103 was the perfect addition to my home office, I can print documents from my phone and any device at home, with the same quality as any other printer, even better. The setup was very fast and easy and the use is even more. I recommend this printer to anyone who want to save money in ink cartridges.

Goodbye ink cartridges
The main selling point or me on this was the tank system. So far it seems so much more cost effective to use the bottles and tanks rather than a cartridge. Everything else with this printer works flawlessly. Zero issues with up and it’s a breeze to use from my phone to print photos or documents. I would definitely recommend this printer.

Does this device Fax?
Thank you for your interest in the HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer (1F3Y0A). That unit does not have the ability to fax directly. Using the HP Smart Advance app, you can send faxes, but not receive them with the Mobile Fax option. The Smart Tank 7602 https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-smart-tank-7602-all-in-one does have the phone line ports to be able to send and receive faxes.

I usually only print once or twice a month. Will this ink dry out easily?
Thank you for your question! The HP Smart Tank 5101's sealed ink tanks help prevent ink from drying out, but the ink in the printhead can change viscosity. The HP Smart Tank 5101 has a sealed ink tank system that helps prevent ink from drying out. When the tanks are closed, the ink won't dry out.
However, ink inside the printhead or ink delivery tubes may change viscosity with low use. If ink cartridges sit idle in your machine for an extended period, they will eventually dry up and become unusable. Keep the ink tanks tightly sealed when they're not in use. This helps prevent air from getting into the tanks, which can lead to ink drying out.

Hello. Thanks for your question. The maximum dimensions are with the paper tray extended. This HP Smart Tank 5101 works with Chrome and requires a router with 2.4 GHz WiFi for wireless printing. The USB A to B 2.0 cable would be a separate purchase.

I have a 200 page document. Can it scan all 200 pages at once to the same PDF file ? I only seen to be able to scan 5 pages then it makes a new odd file.
Hello. Thanks for your question. The HP Smart Tank 5103 All-in-One Printer does not have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), which means it can only scan one page at a time.
If you need an ADF, we recommend considering the HP Smart Tank 7301 or 7602 All-in-One printers, which do include this feature. The ADF can handle up to 35 pages at a time. You can add more pages as the previous stack gets low.
We recommend using the HP Smart app. It will allow you to scan and save the scanned pages as a single PDF. You will be able to rename the file also.
The HP ScanJet Pro N4600 fnw1 is as standalone scanner that has an ADF that can handle up to 100 pages at a time.

If you would like to be able to scan up to 35 pages, we recommend looking at the HP Smart Tank 7301 and 7602 All-in-One Printers. These models have the ADF on top.
