Great Desktop
HP cares about their customers. This is a good computer. Buy it now before the price goes up. It has a built-in DVD Writer and Wi-Fi so you are all set for Windows 11.

Light blue ink on white UNreadable
I'be had lazer burns on both retinas to prevent total blindness; however, it causes me NOT to be able see see light blue colored ink on white background. I have worked with computers since 1974 and PCs since 1990 but I cannot find a way to change the color of ink on the documents and windows to black ink on white that does not change my desktop display background to solid white. unacceptable! Also the same problem with my Windows 11 keyboard I cannot see the light blue markings on the keyboard and am constantly making keyboard mistakes. Unacceptable!!!

A Good Buy for Desktop PC Users in a Home Setting
The HP Pavilion and monitor work just great now. Had trouble understanding monitor controls vis-a-vis PC turning off and on, but resolved the issue. Also, the power switch on the tower is too small and is somewhat recessed so it's hard to depress it to turn on the PC. Wish it protruded and little bit and was larger. PC itself, with included Windows 11, is very fast, due to having both hard disk drive and solid state drive coupled with 2T memory. Windows utility features (Defender firewall/antivirus, defrag, disk clean-up, disk check) work well but are not easy to find. Took me a while to uncover them, and now all is good. Has one-year manufacturer's warranty. Shipped quickly (ordered online from HP store directly) and arrived timely in good repair.

High performance desktop
A well made product that works fantastic snd had the ultimate in storage dor me. I do a lot of Engineer work on it and have barely used the storage become there is so much. It is adept at performing with SolidWorks, Matlab, design and mechanical computer tools. I highly recommend this pc tower and it is small enough to sit under my desk and not get in the way of my legs.

DISAPPOINTED
Disappointed in the sound of audio (music) playback. Very tinny sound. I got this for this purpose and it's a let down. Should have gone w/ a Dell. My Dell laptop sounds much better. Now I'm stuck with this. Sometimes it's not wise to save a few (hundred) dollars. There should be a light that shows when the hard drive is working, power button is recessed too much, labeling of the ports are dull. Pro, your choice of connections.

So far, very good
This is my fourth Hp desktop and I've never been disappointed with any of them. Setting up was a breeze. I've only had this one for a couple of weeks, but so far I've not found anything that doesn't work. The SSD drive is really great: boot time is about fifteen seconds. I can't say that I'm impressed with Windows 11. Seems to be much change for the sake of change. But the machine itself is good. Two things I think could be improved: 1) the power button is a little difficult to manipulate. and 2) I wish Hp would go back to the tray type of optical drive. We use this drive often and on this new machine it's very flimsy and difficult to load. I suspect it may not last long. But for now all is well.

NOTHING LIKE A NEW COMPUTER TO INSPIRE
I had the same HP desktop with the same specs, but after 8 years, I thought it needed more pep, so I ordered a new one and was glad it came in white. My entire desk area is white, which makes me feel inspired to get to work. I was glad to see that transferring my 91,000 files could be accomplished wirelessly with Carbonite. I'm getting used to the Windows 11 program and it's all systems go!

HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-3055xt Computer Good BUT Microsoft's OneDrive Costly & Inconvenient
I like my HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-3055xt computer. It's smaller and gives me more space on my wooden desktop. I like that: smaller is better. I have only ONE complaint. My new computer came with Microsoft Office 2024 Perpetual. And Microsoft apparently enabled its OneDrive software feature on my computer by Default. Once the software was on my 3055xt computer, Microsoft started uploading everything on my C-Drive to the Cloud, AND then I could no longer access my own (i.e., Word, WordPerfect and PDF documents etc.---35 years of them too!---from my C-Drive. To correct this "mistake" made by Microsoft, I had to pay a computer technician about $200.00 to get my property back on my 3055xt computer's C-Drive and OFF the Cloud, and also turn off OneDrive software so that it does not do the same transfer of records again. Microsoft caused me a lot of trouble and worry.

Great operating system
This computer tower makes my home office and personal work a breeze. It boots up within seconds and allows me to complete task in a fraction of the time it has previously taken me to complete these tasks. It sets itself up and I had zero issues when transferring all my applications, files and settings with PC mover. I couldn't be more happy and impressed with this system.

Too many programs
There are many “features” to be deleted or turned off. I am not tech-savvy, and only need a simple machine. This one automatically saves my documents to the cloud — NO! Automatically suggests how to compose documents —NO! Had to disable many things. Had to subscribe to extra cost version of Microsoft 365 to be able to properly use Excel & Word! Very difficult/almost impossible to transfer documents from my old HP Laptop. Product description on website did NOT state that this computer did not come with a webcam or speakers; had to purchase in addition after the fact. Luckily, I did not have a Zoom mtg for a few weeks!
Summary: irritating to use. I don’t want Microsoft to force me to do things its way, rather than my own way. By the way, HP Smart Friend is not very helpful in trying to help with setup.

Good computer
The function of this computer has been very good. I would have preferred a different look to the case but it is functional. I am not happy that moving files from my old computer is so difficult with Windows 11. It tries to steer all your data to the cloud. I do not want it on the cloud at all.

Great Value!
I bought this HP machine because it provided the options I wanted at a reasonable price and it was immediately available. It has, thus far, been as I expected it to be. Setup was easy and presented no issues. My purchased software was readily installed and functions as it is designed to.

HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-3055xt
OK, my last few desktops have all been either DELL computers or computers that I built myself. But, I decided to give HP a try, since I did own a HP laptop some years back that was a pretty decent laptop...
Here's what I like about this computer...
The dual drives, 512 GB SSD for the boot/main and the 2 TB HDD for the data drive. I was skeptical about SSD units at first, until I got a laptop a few years back that had one in it, and I really like how fast it boots up and loads programs. I like the idea of storing my data on a conventional HDD. So this is a really good setup for that.
I also like how I upgraded my processor and RAM from my previous unit. I went from a Core i5 to a Core i7, and from 12 GB RAM to 16 GB RAM.
I liked how when I initialized this computer, it automatically loaded my boot screen graphic and desktop wallpaper directly from my Microsoft account. I did not know it would do this. Nice little surprise.
I had to really search for a desktop, at an affordable price, that still has a DVD/CD writer in it. For some reasons, computer manufacturers seem to think no one wants these anymore, but there are still plenty of us who do. One thing though... the chassis of this computer would have allowed for a horizontally mounted drive. I just don't understand why almost all manufacturers are going to these vertically mounted drives. I get it on the "thin" chassis computers, but as I said, on this unit, it could have easily have been a horizontal mount. But, at least I have an optical drive. I use it all the time, everything from installing older software to ripping my music CDs into iTunes to be later transferred over to my iPhone. I also use the drive for various purposes when making musical productions in my recording studio. Frankly, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they still made desktops where you could have TWO optical drives in them.
I haven't had this computer long enough to really tell how I'm going to like Windows 11 yet, but I'm trying to get used to it. As expected, I found some of my old software doesn't work at all under Win 11, but I was actually surprised as to how many DO work with this new OS. I use a number of pieces of software that is no longer under development and have not been updated in quite a few years.
A couple things I would have liked to have seen changed about this computer...
First off, I am not fond of the white case. I never liked that "bone" color that computers all were back about 30 years ago, and was glad when they started going to black or darker grey cases. I wish HP had offered this unit in a darker color such as that.
I wish they'd put a couple more USB ports on the rear. Yes, I know there's a bunch on the front, and I wound up having to put my wireless mouses USB receiver on the front of the computer, instead of the back, because I have other devices already using all the ports in the back.
I also wish they'd have offered this computer with a discount if you didn't want the mouse and keyboard that came with it, because as I expected, they were both unusable. I really wish the computer manufactures would go back to the kind of keyboards you used to get 20 years ago, with the full size keybeds, with adequate spacing between the various groups of keys. And the older "clicker' keyboards were far easier for someone who knows how to touch type to use. I guess for people who don't know how to type, it may not matter, and maybe this is the user base they are aiming for... but the first thing I did was go out and get a gaming keyboard, because it feels like an older keyboard, and also had backlighting (not to mention it does random color patterns, which is kinda cool too). Here's the kicker... I don't play games! I just liked the look, feel and action on the gaming keyboard.
There's not a whole lot of useless software on the computer. Finally computer makers decided to stop giving you those bloated packages of software you'd never use, but apparently Windows always has the trial version of Microsoft 365 (which has Word, Excel, etc in it). I have never used Microsoft productivity applications, so I just skipped the setup on all that stuff. I've been a die-hard WordPerfect user for decades, and don't plan to ever change. My old version of WP has worked on every computer I've had for many years. Until it stops working, I will use that version.
Not crazy about the look and layout of Windows 11. I found some videos online that showed me a couple ways to change a couple things to make it more similar to Windows 10 and prior. One of the main changes was moving the on screen start button back over to the left, where it belongs. Unfortunately, there's no way to change the rest of the start menu back to where it looks like the older versions of Windows, without installing third-party applications, and I've read that you often get software conflicts with those apps when Windows does future updates. So, I guess I'll just have to get used to doing some things a little differently with Win 11.
Overall, I like the computer, aside from the few things I mentioned. I found it to be a much better value for the money when compared to a similarly setup computer from DELL. A few laptops back, I had a HP at one point, and I remembered it being a pretty good laptop, so I'm hoping this HP desktop will be a good one too.

Does the Job well
Does the job as expected, no problems or surprises. However, I have two gripes:
I don't care for the vertical orientation of the DVD drive. The way I am set up (and can't change) , the loading side faces away from me and is awkward to use. A horizontal drive would be easily accessed from either side.
I'm not a fan of the white color used -- it really stands out (in a bad way) with the rest of my equipment, furniture, and surrounding area. The keyboard colors are hard to read with poor contrast between white keys and gray characters. Characters should be black.

Problems with OneDrive
I had trouble with Microsoft OneDrive. When I disabled OneDrive, it dumped all my pictures into the recycle bin. Fortunately, I had the pictures saved on an external drive, which I used to place the pictures in the Pictures Folder. No problem, but it is problematic that OneDrive software decided to delete things on its own.

My HP Review Jan., 2, 2025
First of all, I'm not happy with white, but I knew that coming in but the black choices did not have features I wanted, and had some that I did NOT want. The keyboard and tower will look awful as tthey darken from dust, dirt and oils from my hands. The USB slots where the flash drives go are very tight and one might be thinking that he could damage the inside or the flash itself, and obviously I'm not excited that they are verticle. The tower, or cabinet if you will, has no rubber feet and is so lightweight that trying to push the flash drive in, just makes the computer slide towards the back of the desk You actually need to use two hands, one containing the flash, and the other to pull the tower back to you so it doesnt get away.
Speaking of verticle, also the DVD drive is also verticle, another strike against this computer. I believe the DVD drive is made very cheaply, almost tinny. NO motor as in previous PCs that push the tray out to you.. I guess having user manuels are a thing of the past. Its nice that manuels are online, but just try switching full screens from manual to a project you are currently working on. Much having a booklet opened to the page. I'm looking into the future, will power cords, a mouse and a keyboard still be included in the box? I'm not looking for games to play, I dont do that, but it would be nice buying a new product to have at least "Word" installed so one can carry on with life. We buy a program for one computer and then we buy another computer and need to repurchase the programs we use over and over.
