Received a damaged printer
Thinking this was a good deal, I bought this printer. I received it fairly quickly, set it up according to instructions, and it immediately started making loud grinding noises. I Upon further inspection, the machine was broken in several places which may or may not have made the noises. Either way, it was damaged beyond use when I received it. Returning the item was fairly easy other than the hassle of having to take it to Fed Ex.

Slow as a turtle
Too many little bugs. Often have to send a request for printing something twice or more and this is the slowest printer I have ever had to work with in my entire career. I wish I never had bought it. The years worth of free ink in retrospect is not able to compensate for my frustrations. I found an old HP printer at a yard sale that works so much nicer. This is the first HP product that I have been dissatisfied with all my years in needing printers and computers.

Can the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e print in black & white if the color cartridge is out of ink? With my old HP printer, when one of the color cartridges ran out of ink, the printer would not print, it would say that the color cartridge needed to be replaced.

When the offer says includes 1 year of instant ink - what level of instant ink (as in pages per month) is included? It seems like a great deal but if it only includes 50 pages or 100 pages, that won't meet my needs. Thank you.

Will this printer print on 12 mil. photo paper? I can find weights, but nothing about thickness.
Thank you for your question! This HP OfficeJet 8035e Pro All-in-One is compatible with 60 to 75 lb (photo) paper. 75-pound photo paper is 11.8 mils thick. 12 mil thickness is close but you should be fine. Make sure to only load the paper tray about 50% to full for best results.

Can you easily make copies from books/magazines easily? Do you have to do anything special for these copies?
As easy is a subjective term, this is a hard question to answer. What is easy for one may not be for another. However. the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e All-in-One Printer does not feature a scanner lid designed for book scanning. Using the HP Smart App with your printer is recommended for scanning pages of a book.

How easy is it to synch with 2021 iMAC desktop. Desktop has no USB 2.0 connections, all are c and thunderbolt type. I understand printer works wirelessly but I prefer connecting via cable in this instance. My office is far from router.
Thanks for your question! Due to the lack of USB 2.0 ports on the iMac, this would have to be used wirelessly. Setting it up is fairly simple, however. You can use the touch screen to join your wifi network then the Mac can find it and download the necessary software from there. Or you can download the free HP Smart App from a mobile device and get it on your network that way.

It uses the 910 standard and/or 910XL cartridges. You pull down on the front door where there is a small gap between the scanner and the panel, and then lift up the scanner bay to change the cartridges.

This printer says it needs 916 XL black but it came with 910xl which does not fit the wide black opening. HP website says 916 has been discontinued and to use 910, but that doesn't work. Now what?
