I absolutely despise that it uses a different toner cartridge than the outgoing model (M426) and the model that replaces the M428 will surely use yet another cartridge. Are there any versions of this model, which offers 1200 x 1200 dpi (or better) resolution and which ALSO has more than the 512MB of memory? For example the 480f offers 2GB of memory, but only 600 x 600 dpi.

Hello, Mikey. Thanks for your question. This HP LaserJet Pro M428fdw printer uses WiFi technology. If you want a direct connection. We recommend using WiFi Direct. Wireless Direct (WiFi Direct) allows you to directly connect to a printer from a mobile device or computer without the need for internet access or a wireless network. You would connect to the printer’s wireless direct signal just like you would connect to a wireless network. The printer would have a unique name in your wireless connections, i.e. Direct-04-Printer.

Thank you for your question regarding the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdn. Tray 1 is the front tray above tray 2. This user guide https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06184015.pdf is for the fdw model, but page 16 shows you how to access tray 1 which is the same for both units.

is this product using to print color pages?

my computer won't connect to printer. It only says "looking for printer" I have tried connecting through wifi and connecting with a cable connection.
