Great Quiet & Fast
Exactly as expected. Very quiet and fast. Lots of fast ports and the only thing I would recommend is that it is clear that the thunderbolt port can be used by USB C accessories if needed. :)

Difficult purchase process.
It was very challenging and took a long time working with the online agent/AI to get my order placed. It was not user friendly. Could not get any customer service to answer my questions on my order.

Happy with my purchase
I am very happy with this computer. It functions as expected and has nice upgrades from my older model. The setup process was the easiest I have experienced and is now similar to setting up a mobile device as all of my files, apps and programs copied from the old computer to the new one. The screen colors are very vibrant.

Stay away!
Buying experience was a NIGHTMARE! Almost 2 hours on the phone selecting and building the computer. The fool that took my order lied to me about delivery time and then screwed the order up. I didn’t notice until it was shipped while reading the components. Spent another couple hours fixing it and ordered another, then fighting about restocking fee. Then, the other took sooooooo long delivering and couldn’t set it up because the serial number didn’t match the product number. Another lack of accuracy on HPs fault. Then they took an additional two and a half weeks holding my $1000 refund! Do not purchase from these imbeciles.

HP Laptops that are built to specifications are a rip off.
I have owned 4 HP laptops for over 12 years. The first 2 were great. The last 2 have been a huge disappointment. They are unreliable and I have to hire tech experts to make them work. I could have sent them back but that is a huge hassle. The last 2 HP laptops are 1 1/2 yrs old and 3 months old. They are worthless unless you have at least a $1,000 to make them work after you spent $1,350.00 for the laptops to be custom built by HP. That means that I bought each HP laptop for approximately $2,500.00. That is not a good deal.

lousy touchpad
This was delivered on Jan 2, 2025. The touchpad operates sporadically. Sometimes it responds to a tap but often it does not. I use a tap on the touchpad to use the computer, thus the touchpad needs to work right each time I tap it.

Better in all but one way
I loved my 2017 HP Envy laptop, and this new one is even better in all but one way. Faster, of course. A sleeker IR webcam (necessary for facial recognition login). Backlit keyboard (much superior to painted-on letters). Numeric keyboard and well-placed cursor keys. Bright screen with great color. The one feature I miss is a DVD player - HP doesn't offer built-in optical disks any more.

High end laptop
Lots of USB ports. Touch screen works well. Only negative so far is 100w power draw. Machine and charger brick running hotter than I expected. Less than one month owned, so time will tell if heating is a real issue and how well the machine holds up.

Very nice looking and working laptop
I really like my new laptop. It is much thinner and sleeker than my last one and with the same screen size. I'm not a fan of the power cord placement that puts USB ports behind the cord that sometimes catches the USB thumb drive that I use there. The keyboard is set up pretty much just like my last HP laptop with the exception of the power button that is no longer separated from the keyboard but is actually integrated into the top row at the end of the function keys - a little strange but so far hasn't caused any issues.

Great business laptop, but a little weighty
Received product a few days after the date listed during purchase. Installation was a breeze and I was able to easily log into my O365 account and set everything up quickly. I've used HP products for over 25 years, and I've not had an issue with them that I couldn't fix. The screen seems a bit top-heavy; however, I did purchase the 17.3" screen, so...I suppose that comes with the territory. I do like the keyboard feel...it's very easy to type on. So far, the battery life is adequate for my needs. I'll need to test the battery out some more to see if it can handle most of a work-day for me.

Laptop and Microsoft
The machine is alright and has some cool features but I don't like being FORCED into using Outlook, a gmail account that I clicked "NO" on, and some other things. Microsoft is an extremely INVASIVE creature! Right down to wanting my birthdate? Really?! There is no reason that I can think of why they need that!!!! And I couldn't skip it or proceed setting up without it. I tried half a dozen different dates that it kept rejecting, until I put in my actual date, then I was good to go. If they already knew it then why the ***k were they asking? Not happy about those things at all.

Just as the dr. ordered
The Lit up Keyboard is a great asset, the Laptop being so thin makes the placement and using the keyboard really user friendly. It's lightening fast, long battery life. I definitely recommend!

Power Button Next To Delete Button - Makes no sense
I believe the unit will perform as I expected - but absolutely hate that the delete button is next to the power button in the middle of the keypad and is small. I will never understand why it is positioned in that location. I may return it since it is so easy to miss the delete and I don't want to deal with that on a daily basis

HP Envy 17.3
It’s fast enough for me. The only issue I had when setting up was about the third day using it the screen became grainy and pixelated. I shut it down and restarted.and haven’t had any more problems since. Battery life is good, around 6 hours. Haven’t used it much lately but, looking forward to using it more.
Thank you hp

What is advertised as processor speed is not the true speed you receive!
I bought this based on the recommendation of 2 online HP sales people, I explained what my main objectives were and they missed the boat. I thought I was buying a 4.8 mhz processor and it was 1.4. I could get up to the 4.8 with turbo boost but not suggested as it could blow up the processor and I couldn't do it myself. I told them my #1 was streaming softball. You cannot do it on this computer. It was returned

Improvements Have Been Made
Improvements have been made on the HP Envy when compared to my previous model. The keyboard is well lighted, and the letters is visible during the day. The pinching screen hinge has been eliminated. I would have like one more USB C outlet. However, this is a minor issue.

Heavy but gorgeous
This is the first laptop I have bought myself since graduate school 30 years ago. However, I liked the HP laptops provided to me by my employer over the last 15 years, so that's the company I looked at when I left to go my own way. My main criteria was a large screen. This one is big and beautiful. I don't use it for gaming - just work, surfing the web and videos. The only shocker was how heavy she is. Oof. I mean it was in the specs, but I didn't quite anticipate how much more she would weigh than my old one - I mistakenly thought that getting rid of my ancient disk drive would lighten the load but screens are clearly heavy. Still - it fits in all my backpacks and carry abgs and that's all I need.

Frustrating
Hugely disappointing. I purchased this laptop because it represented the 2024 version of the Envy I purchased in 2016 which I loved and would still be using except the keyboard is dying. This is my 3rd HP laptop. The camera is awful, and the microphone worse. Clients cannot hear what I'm saying. A headset has not helped. I'm ready to send it back to the CEO; they deserve to have this frustrating experience.

Impressed with graphics and speed performances
I love this laptop. I use it for gaming and I'm very impressed with it's performance. For years I used the "D" brand but I don't regret switching to HP now. Highly recommend this laptop for gaming. Also, this laptop has a high speed internet card which makes browsing and downloading really fast.

Wanted to Like It, Didn’t Work Out
I really wanted to like this laptop. I had a 17 inch HP for the past 5 years and it was amazing! No problems until recently when it refused to charge (even after going to get it fixed). That being said I figured it was time for a new one. I chose this model because it had good reviews and I hoped it would be similar to my 2019(?) hp envy. Unfortunately it has not been. The first couple of weeks were good so I thought I was good to go. The last few weeks have been rough though. It’s been really slow (even though I got a temporary laptop and that one works fine with the wifi) so I don’t think it’s my internet. It’s shut off multiple times while I’ve been working despite being fully charged, it has also glitched when I have tried to switch tabs (I have a video of this) and most of the time I have to reload my webpages (although the other people who use laptops in my house don’t have to, and again when I use a loaner laptop — it’s fine). Also I feel like the sound on this laptop isn’t great it’s kind of muffled — both when you create videos (I record lectures) and when your are on video calls. I also am not the biggest fan of the keyboard. I know you can get external keyboards but I travel a lot and don’t really enjoy bringing another item. I’m pretty bummed because I wanted to like this laptop as much as my first Hp. It just hasn’t been the right fit. It’s also heavier than my old one. It is a pretty design though, and I like the new port for charging, and the physical shutter for the camera. I really wanted this to work! Unfortunately I don’t think it’s the laptop for me and my needs.
