HP 6055e not bad for the price
I replaced my very old Epson with the HP 6055e, on sale for $64.99. The HP uses an app on your smartphone which is nice, but I was used to having the choices on the printer. (Copy- duplicate sides, quality of print, etc; Scan- photo, document, pixel options, etc.; setting. Ink maintenance, etc) I was told by the rep that I would still have those options. She was wrong. Everything is almost all managed from the app. However, for the cost, it’s manageable. When opening the top to place a document on the screen for copying, it won’t stay open on its own…must hold it open.

Doesn’t work
Doesn’t work. Tried to print 40 total pages in 8 attempts. Still didn’t complete. Got different errors they caused printing to stop. Customer service won’t allow me to simply return even though I paid $200 for a warranty for this and the laptop. He said I have to work with IT and if they think I should get a return then I can return. I asked where this information was when I purchased. He couldn’t give me any information than to go search that on hp.com. I spent 5 minutes answering IT’s automated questions and then was told it will be a long wait time.

Hello and thank you for your question! This HP Envy 6055e can print via AirPrint. Also, the HP Smart App is a free download and is located in the Apple App Store. The Smart App will help with installation and printing/scanning functions as well.

DOES THIS COME WITH THE INITIAL INK TO GET STARTED?
It does come with setup cartridges in the box that are also Instant Ink ready. You do want to use those cartridges up first. If you opt-in for HP+ during the setup using the HP Smart app, HP+ is completely free and is extra protection for the printer, you also get free months of Instant Ink.

I’m replacing my hp 4650, I print a lot of photos, was happy with quality with 4650 it just wore out. Not looking for high professional photos just very good quality. I do use photo paper, is hp 6055e comparable to 4650?

If the document feeder is needed then a printer in the HP OfficeJet line would be highly recommended and the closest comparison. If the document feeder is not needed then this Envy 6055e will be a great choice as well.

Wireless Direct (WiFi Direct) allows you to directly connect to a printer from a mobile device or computer without the need for internet access or a wireless network. You would connect to the printer’s wireless direct signal just like you would connect to a wireless network. The printer would have a unique name in your wireless connections, i.e. Direct-04-Printer. Just installing Envy6000 printer. Please tell me the location of my document once scanned. I don't see anything on my desktop to indicate the scanned document was received.
There is not a way for us to give you the destination as it would show on the selected folder from the device in which you scan from. If you are on Home in the files, it should show up under recent in most cases in you can use properties to find out where it saved. To check the settings for location for a scan, this link http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06584210.pdf for the user guide shows the information about scanning starting on page 65 and you can get the save destination that way.
