Mixed feeling re: HP printer & HP Instant Ink
The first printer was defective. The 2nd printer works fine. What I don't like is that HP Instant Ink has blocked my other printer from working with the ink cartridge that is already installed. I may or may not continue to purchase HP printers, but I will no longer use HP Instant Ink.

Bad start printer
Nice little inexpensive printer, easy to set up, but getting used to colored lights to understand operation is weird. Also, printer successfully printed one page then went offline, requiring phone interaction with HP technician. Not off to a good start.

ALMOST PERFECT EXCEPT BIG MISTAKE!

I am so disappointed!! (I’ve been a hp customer for years.) This purchase is defective. A small piece of broken plastic was rattling around inside printer, it doesn’t close properly & I’ve spent HOURS following the directions to hook it up to no avail. I’ve requested assistance about how to return it but STILL haven’t had a response from hp. I’ll never buy refurbished again and I’m on the verge of buying a different brand name printer& leaving the hp ink refill program.

Don’t waste your time with HP
I spent over an hour on the phone with NHP rep. They assured me I was buying the next generation of my printer that had just stopped working after three years. They sent me a completely wrong printer. I called customer service to arrange for a pick up and after an hour on the phone. The rep said she was having computer problems and would call me back. Of course she never did. I am still trying to return this printer.

Power up?
Working well so far printed about 40 pages so far, was just a little confusing on steps to set up after initial power up, when to install ink cartridges, wanting to have you "get software" which seemed to just mean getting hp smart app which i already had and adding a new printer through the app

HP Support Set Up Support is USELESS
After 1 hour on the phone with H. P. Setup Support, realized they had no real idea how to pair the Printer with a Phone.. Gave up, returned the Printer and bought a Cannon !!
Got it set up myself in 40 minutes...start to finish..

67XL do not work
Works great with the exception that the ink cartridges I purchased and were noted as compatible on the advertisement 67XL tri-color and black were rejected when we tried to install them. But the cartridges that came with it state 67 or 67XL on them!

Poor service
I got 2 inks that ran out in 3 days and i called support to help m÷ finish registration and to get ink i ended up on the phone for 4 hrs and 45 min to be told i would get the same packets of ink. I needed my 6 months [f i,k started and sent to me. Im still waiting on my ink and oh by the way yes im mad and my "all was disconnected.

Efficient
The unit is compact and efficient. Once set up, it worked perfectly for all activities. The print quality is perfect as is the scanning results. Quite a machine for the price.

I am constantly having issues with the Envy 6055 going offline. What do I do?
If you have an Apple product the HP printer has trouble communicating.
Try this work-around 1. make note of the non-printed document, then 2. unplug the printer, 3. wait 1 to 3 minutes, 4. then plug in the printer, t5. hen wait while it re-boots, 6. then re-locate your document and 7. order the print. This daily re-booting often works.

What is the best HP paper to use for this printer?
That would depend on what kind of print job is being performed. can you scan simply by using a button on the front panel or do you have to access scanning via the app?
Thank you for your interest in the ENVY 6055e. You can make a copy from the front panel, but for a scan to keep a digital copy you will need to use the HP Smart app.

I've used HP for over 20 years. I recently bought the 6052e for home use to print and scan via usb. It's the worst printer I've ever encountered at work before I retired, or home. It will not work correctly for scanning. BEWARE OF THESE 6000 printers!
HP Team Grant -- Thank you for your reply. But I spent almost two days on the phone with HP support. We finally gave up (HP person and me). It only prints -- HP computer, updated software, won't recognize printer for scanning. (but will print from computer).
