Can this specific model print checks and barcodes? If yes to barcodes do I need to download the fonts? or this printer already has the ability to do so?

All HP printers are capable of printing names and dollar amounts on premade check paper, you will just need to use check printing software for proper formatting. However, if you need to print full checks yourself, your bank will likely require the use of magnetic ink character recognition (MICR), which would require a modified HP printer and MICR ink/toner. This printer is not MICR compatible.

Does the machine decide when the toner is out or does the customer? I’d like to be able to keep printing until the paper shows an issue with the ink. Not before.

Will this printer continue to print in black & white when anyone or more of the color toner cartridges is empty?

You say it can scan up to 50 pgs on the ADF on top of this HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer & save as 1 PDF file. I tried to scan a multi-page doc to my computer & it only gave me options for jpg type files. How do I scan as a pdf not photo?
