Rated 5 out of 5 by Madam_Trudeau from HP High Yield Ink Does the Job I had a large printing job that was coming up, and became worried that I would run out of magenta ink (HP 951) mid-print. So, I went ahead and purchased an XL Magenta cartridge (plus a cyan and yellow) in anticipation of running out. Boy, am I sure glad I did (and the other 2, as well)! Not long after I started, my regular magenta cartridge ran out of ink (and soon after, so did my cyan and yellow). By the end of the print job, my Magenta HP 951XL cartridge went down to a little above half, while my new regular (HP 951) cyan and yellow cartridges are practically gone. XL is the way to go when you know you print a lot! This Magenta HP 951XL had no issues and printed as vibrantly as it usually does for me. But the best thing about it is how long it can last in a large print job. It did its job, just as was expected.

The brand new magenta refill does not print either. I have wasted my money. When the cyan was empty I was forced to order a refill because I could not print anything, even in black only.

I just installed this cartridge (951XL Magenta) brand new out of the box and it bricks my printer! I get an error saying there is an ink error. I reinstall the depleted cartridge and the printer comes back to life but no printing yet ( depleted ink).
