I opened the box, which was sealed and put the cartridge in my printer. The cartridge was empty. I took the cartridge out and shook it and there was nothing in it. I don't want to go buy another one, plus a lot of places are out of stock. Will you please send me another one, but please check it first.

This was an effort, after following HP online advice, to correct the print head errors I was receiving. I thoroughly cleaned the print head, the printer and installed the new HP cartridges. I received new error messages in addition to the initial "printhead appears to be missing, not detected or incorrectly installed." The new error messages stated that the HP cartridges were not detected or incorrectly installed. I give up. I am stuck with 4 new HP ink cartridges and a worthless printer. A local tech & printer repair show is going to order a new printhead at $200 to see if that solves the problem. I will never purchase an HP printer again. I have over 15 at my office and purchased at least 75+ for my law firm over the years

The HP OfficeJet 8010 printer uses HP 915XL and HP915 Ink Cartridges. The HP OfficeJet 8010 is not available in the US and neither are those cartridges. If you were referring to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8015e that will use the HP 910 series inks and are available in the US.

I have an Officejet Pro 8600. It came with a 950 cartridge CN049. It will accept those cartridges but others sold by HP as 950 black cartridges do not fit. The manual is silent on this. What is the right XL black cartridge for this printer?

The 950XL black is compatible with this printer. Also, the other colors are the 951 cartridges.

Thank you for your question! The HP 950 and 950XL black ink cartridges are compatible with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8620. The compatible color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) for that printer are the HP 951 or 951XL ink cartridges.
